Cam Install

I did a search and found everything from $200 to install a cam to $6k. Nothing really talked about doing the cam a second time....

So I learned my lesson to do things right the first time and not spend to do it twice. I already have a Smaller TSP cam (with all supporting cam mods) I had installed when there were only TSP or Mast to choose from. Now I'm looking to go a bigger. One quote I got for install/fly cutting quoted me at $2800 for just install and tune. Is it just me being cheap or is that not to much?

It's been a while like I said since I had the initial install done but feel like it would not be 20 hours of work.

Seems high to me for install/tune with fly cutting...I'd think more in the line of $1500-$1700

that seems fair, flycutting takes a ton of time to do it right and clean everything up.

If I went to mexico probably be 2800 pesos. Ive been to most of the local San Antonio places and this is only place I found that didnt try to push me towards LS3 swap cam or said they didnt want to fly cut.

Learned your lesson eh?

I hear ya, but it works the other way around too. You know, getting sick and tired of driving to the corner store, for cigarettes in an unstreetable monster, and then spending coin $$$ again to downgrade, lol.

Just curious, what is too small about the present "small" TSP cam? Specs?

Not enough top end? Did you get beat on the street or track at a particular speed?

Why flycutting? TSP camshafts don't require flycutting!

Just the VVT2. Car isn't my DD now that I have my truck so I can go bigger. I know what the car can do at track and on "closed road" do really just want to max it out and get everything I can.
