O2 sensor question

Hi all,
Happy Easter! I accidentally tore the wire on my downstream O2 sensor. I have them tuned out. But, do I need them hooked up with the wire? Or is it just to plug the hole?

If you have them tuned out, you should be good with unplugging it and tying the clip up out of the way.
