Well I added an aftermaket 4 channel amp with wire harness to tap in before the amp. 2 channels are powering my aftermarket 6x9's and I bridge the other side to a 10" sub. Problem solved. Sounds great now. Not even using the rear part of the factory amp. It's nice that the battery is in the trunk. Makes installation a breeze. The wire harness from sub thump makes easy installation too with no wires to cut. They have a YouTube video if you are interested.

I replaced all of it.

The boston speakers are actually not bad if you replace the amp. Stock amp is the problem. New speakers wont help as much a new amp will.

Well I discovered a huge free upgrade. For best sound quality, DO NOT use Bluetooth from your phone for music. Maybe it's my older 2011 model, but I got a huge improvement when I used the USB cable vs the Bluetooth option. The bass came back to life.

you might have to mess with the settings for bluetooth in your phone. mine has that option. my old phone did not.

In your Camaro, frequency response wise, CD is the best you can get, then USB direct from a quality device, then FM, then Bluetooth then XM Sirius and finally AM.

Bluetooth cuts both highs and lows to conserve bandwidth. Most people listen to compressed digital music using Bluetooth so it sounds like crap. Many younger folks grew up listening to music that way so they don't even know what high fidelity music even sounds like. Sirius XM radio sounds so bad I can't even listen to it.

If you ripped at 320k you might be hard-pressed to tell the difference.

I did and I can
i do have a sub thump w/12" Infinity Kappa 500w Alpine amp and a 450w Alpine for the stock speakers. so that might make the differance.

Any high end smartphone. Apple devices use excellent D/A converters and provide amazing sound. Many people have lost the fact that I-pods are sound quality first devices. The I-Phone just happens to have one built-in.

Using a lossless encoding scheme will ensure at least CD quality. Not sure of the capabilities of the D/A converters in the stock stereo but encoding songs on a USB memory stick will rely on those converters and provide CD quality sound if you encode with lossless compression.

I forgot to mention the analog auxiliary input port jack. It should allow very high quality playback depending on the device you plug in. Anytime you use USB input you are relying on the DACs in the host stereo. The highest possible quality is through the Aux jack with a high end player.

There are even higher end devices that play FLAC and other high def formats that exceed CD quality but they are expensive and it is doubtful the stock stereo system can do them justice.

Just remember, Bluetooth is lower quality no matter which device you use because of its specification. the spec is constantly improved and someday will offer CD quality at least.

I'm streaming music from my 4G music on ITunes. I selected "Higher Quality on Cellular" setting within the Music category for best possible sound. As I stated, using the USB cable makes a world of positive improvement over the Bluetooth, which I now have read above that it cuts the highs and lows. I can attest to that with my own ears. At least in my 2011 model, Bluetooth sound sucks. In my Malibu (2013) I didn't notice such a degradation to sound using Bluetooth. I'll have to plug in there as well to see if I experience another huge leap in sound quality. I'm telling you, it was like adding a new amp and subwoofer just by using the USB cable.
