Z-28 wicker bill experience?

I got the Z/28 Aero package installed and have meant to ask others that also did how you like it?

Man i feel the wicker bill is putting down pressure!! I even feel its too much for the daily drives. I mean, i LOVE the look, but the pull down/ back it offers is so great its hampering my mileage (a LOT) and its almost like i feel as if im rolling with the handbrake on lol!!!

Talk about a part doing its job!!

I am thinking of putting it in the lower setting to see how much it helps.

Anyone??

Did you get the z28 spoiler? I put a wickerbill on mine but on the regular spoiler, I kind of do feel it at higher speeds or when accelerating but I thought that was my head messing with me lol I daily drive mine to

"Aero Package" as the entire ground effect as well? That wicker bill was designed for track use. Daily that will kill your mileage for sure. That's why they made it removal-able. Oh and post some pics!!!

I have the 1LE splitter still and put the Z28 spoiler on my car. I thought about adding the wicker bill, but will not do it! Since going to the Z28 spoiler from the 1LE Spoiler, I can tell you there is a noticeable difference in front tire load at high speed! The Z28 spoiler alone adds enough rear downforce to overcome the 1LE splitter and make the front of the car feel "lite". I know if I added the wicker bill, the front tires might leave the ground at high speed! LOL (Not really, but you know what I mean...they will get really lite!)

Did you add the Z/28 front splitter as well? When you say hampered your mileage how many miles to a gallon lost are you talking? Just curious as I am looking at doing the entire Aero Sport Concepts package.

Hey guys,

I have the GM Z/28 Aero kit, which includes the Z spoiler, under car close out panel and Front splitter w / special gurney lip exts. I also have the splitter as stated in my original post. So yes, i have the Splitter too.

I love it dont epget me wrong and... Duh! I know its removeable lol!!!! I just had it on a few weeks and getting to see what its bringing to the party and wanted to share my experience and see if other felt the same.

I was just very surprised how such small (in my eyes) could change a car so much, im new to this driving shit (drag racer here) and its pretty much fun finding about those thing and trying out alignment set ups etc.

I like the perf, but also the look is soooooo killer!!! I cant beleive how people are responsive to my car. Went to a car and coffee yesterday and everyone was taking pics and asking questions. Im used to owning first gen Camaros and feel those car are special.... Didnt have as much respect for my '15 while getting in it but wanted to try one out. I can tell you tables are turning around a bit more everyday..... Especially when lurking out for a Whipple unit hehehe......

Oh, and about mileage, i couldnt tell you, but i know its a lot. I compare it to running a pick up with the tailgate shut vs laying it down on the highway!!

Your Wickerbill experience reminds me of the Randy Pobst impressions when re-testing the Z/28 on track with Motor Trend a couple of years ago.

In praise of the Wickerbill from the article:

“Oh my God, you fixed it!” came the voice. “This is so much better. It’s back. This is how it should perform. We were so right to name this car Best Driver’s Car.”

You can also imagine Pobst’s surprise when we told him how little we’d changed. A new set of tires (he’d burned off the previous set during the last test), a double-check of the alignment, and oh yeah, that little wickerbill now bolted to the spoiler.

“That little thing?” Pobst said. “I can’t believe it’s doing that much.”

LOL!

I think the article claimed something over 100 lbs. of downforce at ~125 MPH. It appears that the wickerbill works as advertised!

I installed an aftermarket Wickerbill and I've noticed my mpg has gotten worse since installation. My last fill up, it calculated to 14 mpg in DD. I normally get 16-17. I'll be removing it for DD activities

The Wicker Extension does exactly what it's designed to do. Create Downforce and in turn in most cases creates Drag. One reason why our Kits are adjustable. With it in the fully down position we've recorded approx 1 mpg less than no Wicker. In its full height position yes you should see anywhere from 2-3 mpg in the negative.

I know alot of people buy the Wicker Kit for looks but this is a true functional device and that should be taken into consideration when making a decision to go with it or without.

I don't DD my car anymore so I have a bias opinion but the Wicker makes such a great improvement in stability at high speeds I feel it's worth the lower mileage.
