Yes you want to survive , $1300 for GMPP CNC ported heads brand new rather than the decked heads you have which were shaved because? Now that's cheap insurance the heads are OK and you can check out the lifters and the whole preload, I am thinking maybe you have lifter wanting to turn, old lifter baskets, a loose pickup , or bad work on the engine short block you could have spun a bearing etc..... One reason why I suggested a machine shop of your going to have to go that far into it.

And its easy to spend 5 grand on heads for a ls7, going MAST, add porting, better this and that, etc, add in $3000 for a cam the springs, the pushrods, the fluids, A/C , pump, gaskets, etc etc it adds up, and the easy way...Drop the cradle or spend too much time bent over a engine...... Then dyno tune...$500, so yup 12 grand is money guys spend all the time, damn wish I had 12 grand right about now...LOL

Anyway what ever you do break it in with good break in oil if you have not as its a practice even shops do unknowingly when dumping oil after a dyno tune....let alone on purpose, and good luck to you let us know what you find some day wallet fires suck.... And those cam specs are milder than many run.

I'm with ya. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, I suppose. But there is way too much conflicting information even among those in the know. Throw in the myriad of parts available - good ones, bad ones, then the people who install them...correctly...incorrectly...and it sounds like a real crapshoot if you aren't capable of DIY. At least if YOU jack it up, you can leave the lawyers out of it!

When I got the car and did the work first time I was single, working overseas made a bunch of money, 30 yrs old. I worked in Iraq and what ever is in the air there ruined my lungs and had to rely on inhalers. Doctors wouldn't clear me. Found a decent job in the states within a year of being there I had 3 vertebrae fused together and a drunk driver hit me head on. I lost my job from the injury. Thread years now I stimulator on my spine, constant pain, painkillers, muscle relaxers, can't work. Married and 1 year old. If I would of known this mess I wouldn't of done this but you can't predict it what's going to happen. I can't even sell it now also. Fall from up top is long hard

I get it. Life can be a bitch, oh, most days. I went to a quack surgeon 30 years ago. Ruined my right arm...long story. But as it relates to this thread, I'd have to believe that with the popularity of the LS motor and modding, there's also going to be some LS "quacks" out there trying to make/take a buck. It's unfortunate you found one. I hope you get some satisfaction, somehow. Someone said it, we need to name names here so others can avoid the troubles.

If you were in Iraq in the military, thanks. I'm sure when Saddam was lighting off oil wells, that air was putrid.

I'm sorry for your problems. I am a firm believer in replacing a motor when it has a meltdown. I have seen too many customers of mine attempt to "repair" a damaged engine only to have all the extra time and money spent to do so be wasted and it melting down again. Yeah a new motor is spendy and you still have to open it up to modify to your liking but at least it's just that cost and not all the machine shop and parts for the original engine on top of it, not to mention time down and headache dealing with all the BS.

I hope you can get it resolved.

I want to make an update. After my threads I have made I was able to have a talk with the shop owner. I was able to voice my concerns and told him he left me to go to the forums for help. He didn't understand that my noise was a new noise and he even talked to the machine shop about this to verify. He is willing to help me out with what's going on. I am doing most work myself but he is giving me advice. We are still troubleshooting but think we are getting closer. It's taking me a while to work on due to personal issues. Anyways I was just putting out there that we had miscommunication and he totally understood what where I was coming from and things are all good and I have actually appreciated how he is helping me.

Pro stock Jon thanks for Anthony's number and I talked to him about him looking at my car but it's so difficult for me to find the funds and time to get it over. I wanted to talk to Nick since he did the build for advice first. Thank you though for the help.

Yes I know sounds like he should look into the injury to his lungs that occurred in Iraq as there were some people set to guard a area that highly toxic stuff I remember watching it on 60 minutes or some news show and it had horrible effects on the people there with it being like
