402rwhp on a stock 2SS M6

A customer came in yesterday to get a baseline dyno before we start ordering parts for it. We strapped it down and let it cool off since he just came in from out of town. When we dynoed it, it put down 392rwhp. We let it cool down some more and made another pull. Final numbers were 402rwhp and 405rwtq. We did have a cold front move in last night so it was in the low 70s in the shop but still, this is the most we have seen these cars make stock. Although I did notice that this car did have the dealer installed GM performance axle back so thats worth some hp.

That is awesome! How many miles on the car? That is impressive for stock numbers. I can hardly believe the diffence in stock RWHP #s between the L99 and LS3. The L99 guys seem to need to add CAI, Exhaust, Headers, and tune just to get the stock LS3 numbers. Why is that?

It's not quite "stock" if it has a cat-back, right?

Either way, great numbers!

exact thoughts I was having... still 402 is impressive but we all know the LS3 needs to breathe. Cool temps, low humidity and an free flowing exhaust, I guess thats enough to take it from the average upper 370s i have been seeing reported on bone stock LS3 cars.

The average M6 car that rolls though here has been anywhere from 365 to 380. Although, this is the first one that we dynoed when it was nice and cool in the shop.

I guess that depends on who you ask since its a dealer installed option and not a factory option. Eather way it was left untouched from when he signed the papers to when it went on the rollers. It had a little bit over 200 miles on it from what I remember.

You lose around 20% through an automatic trans.

Does that mean that the axle-back exhaust is good for a ~40hp (not necessarily whp) increase on the LS3?
