The lighting is dimable -- it comes with the leather interior upgrade, as I recall. It is ice blue unless you order an Orange Accent interior -- then it is orange in color.
Gimmick -- perhaps -- but as someone pointed out, it's a COOL gimmick. Further, it allows you to see the door handle and window buttons at night -- so it has a purpose as well. |

Forget packaged options. I'm buying mine base model and asking for parts for my birthday/christmas...

Yeah, it's tough for those who weren't looking to get the leather. I, however, was going to get the leather anyway, so getting it all grouped into one package might save some money over having them offered separately. The ambient lighting is a very very slick gimmick, and I love it. The sacrifice of the cows for the leather that it goes with will not be in vain.

Perhaps the lighting can be made (offered as an option) to match the color of the exterior of the car??

If the light pipe is white or clear you can have any color you want. I'll post instructions on how to swap out the LED as soon as I get one apart.
Pink LEDs are rarer than hens teeth but I bet we can use a white one covered with pink photo filter plastic and have it your way. |
