Thanks man, I was glad to have a "real" reason to use my welder. Haven't fabricated in a while.

Well..... as i waited to get the car broken in... or more accurately, all the kinks worked out...... I decided to pull the trigger on a spoiler. My wife actually bought me this for my Birthday back in Feb. but I was so focused on getting the build done.... this took a back seat.

This is the UnRestricted Motorsports Spoiler.

If you remember, I had a real hard time cutting the hole for my backup camera in a space no one will ever really see....on a bumper cover that is easy to replace. There was NO WAY in hell I was going to screw holes in my rear quarters for a GM Dovetail 3-piece. (No I won't go 130+ mph with a taped on spoiler either)

I am not knocking it, I give it the slight edge in looks.... but if I had to do it over again, I would choose the same, NO holes in the prettiest body panel the car has.

I was very happy to find this as an alternative. I am a huge 1st gen fan, it was a blade spoiler or nothing all the way for me.

Stage 1: Primed spoiler, just sitting on trunk lid.

Time for some Spray!!

I went to my local body shop, they used the special paint match camera and took my paint code. As you know ABM has issues with variances in the paint. I was fairly impressed so far with the color match.

Remembering, this is a Pearl/Metallic and is impacted by the angle of light. The angle the light hits the spoiler will always be different than the trunk lid right beside it. So in certain angles in the sun, it looks slightly different... but most of the time outside...and in flash photography... I hope you will agree, it is right on.

Stage 2 : DIRTY CAR... Painted, mounted to trunk lid.... not wet sanded yet.

And the Final stage! Gotta have my graphics!

I decided to just add the graphics to the spoiler instead of painting them on. In the future if I ever decide to get a different hood, I will have the stripes painted on all the way back...and If I painted these on now, I have to worry about paint match again later...or fading... just seemed to make sense, also who wants graphics on hood and trunk and then painted on stripes on the spoiler.

They don't make a 1 piece kit for the spoiler stripes to wrap over, and I didn't want 2 pieces.

I had a local graphics guy cut them from 1 big piece and they wrap from under the front to the rear of the spoiler in 1 piece... and I freaking love the way this car looks now....even more!

Thank You Sir! I agree..... ABM made it easy to modify the outside... Rims and a spoiler. lol

I might change up the badges eventually...... and maybe a splitter one day.

The looks crazy. The spoiler sets the car off with the graphics. Hope the cat mod works for you.

Thanks for reading Sir.

Honestly I have been so wrapped up in it... I probably have a few details and tidbits to go back and add. I am glad you enjoyed it!
