Instead of using the battery kill switch on the negative, couldn't you use it on the positive to the starter? I would think that would keep all the other systems operational??

I had problem a holes breaking into cars in our area. This motion detector gives a loud beep when activated. Just play with angles to reduce false alarms.
Cheap and has worked great. Just upgrade batteries.
