yes I agree 100% im out in orange/anicrime if you walk your likely to get run down. ped vs car crimes are going up in my area as well as LA
I live next to 2 large hospitals at least 4 to 5 times a month they close off one part of chapmen ave or main street because some one gets run down.

the 5 freeway is a mess almost at all hours ex between the hours of 3am -6am.
road rage here is fixed by smashing in to the other persons car or just shooting the idiot.
by 2030 no personal cars yeah I don't see that happening
when I was truck driving I went threw a lot of small towns and then nothing for hundreds of mile Nebraska comes to mind. how those people going to get around. or what if you have to go from one side of Texas to the other....are you going take a uber for 3 days

or take my situation for example.
a lot of people are moving to older orange county city of orange, Anaheim, Santa Ana. like me I was put in a situation where driving 30-40 miles a day round trip 6 days a week, out of the question for a old Junker for 1000$ to 500$ not reliable. how am I to pay uber 15 bucks there and 15$ home that's 180$ a week 720$ a month puff my car payments 325.11$ and insurance 137$ and spend im paying 642.11$ a month. maybe in a huge city where cars are not needed because public transit is faster and safer.
but a lot of Americans drive.

look around if these facts are true! WHY IS TRAFFIC GETTING WORSE all over the usa.
just type in more cars bought in US. or more cars on the road in US and you get tons of articles like this one

If this is so far fetched, think about the current and next generation of drivers. an hour in rush hour inching along, not using all your phones and tablets, vs letting someone else do it while you get through your emails, posts and Crush games!
more and more deliver services to your home.
higher taxes on cars and fuel.
and like was said before, so many fewer people WANT to drive. they just want freedom like we all did!

and maybe they are making more cars because they need to replace so many recalled ones! lol

There is a High Rise Condo going up in Tampa, that has Zero Parking Spaces - strictly for people without cars!

I'd love to kiss the wife goodbye for the day and watch her climb into a pod for her 100 mile roundtrip commute however I doubt it will happen in my particular area. In the winter there are two large mountains that have about 2K ft elevation changes and peak out around 6-7k feet above sea level. There would be way too many pods in the ditch in my area during any snowstorm. I would love not having to write a check every month for vehicles that I am going to commute with. I wonder if they are going to make a towing/off road pod to replace my truck that pulls my camper to off road destinations in the mountains. The pods would be a great solution if we wanted to stay in a hotel with road access though.

My 19 y/o daughter has no gumption to really drive, but has to for a job and "things" she needs... like makeup and clothes. If she could get by without driving, she would.

Only my opinion, but back in the 60's and all the way through into the 90's, a car signified freedom, adventure, and fun. Today, young people see it as an expense and a hinderance - something that takes away their income that would be better used for housing.

I lived in my cars for a while and was really glad I spent the money to even have them. But the one thing I have noticed is you tube with mighty car mods and haggard garage and other channels really are inspiring younger people to go out and buy cars....there old and junky cars not new but there they are proud of there spray paint, paint job rims to wide to fit with fender flairs screwed in to the fender so the wheel poke is legal now.

A few neighbor hood kids where I use to live who hated cars would make fun of me for even having one. They now have cars!
And there spray painting them fender flairs rims suspension just because haggard garage is funny to watch....
And no there not Nice cars they have they are old Toyota v6 camrys and Honda crv's they payed 500$ for.
Personaly I'm just happy to see then just going out and getting cars.

True there not buying brand new cars and there is a fall in that area.

Shoot my dad sees cars as a transportation only. He thinks anything I do is dumb a waist of money and I need to be slapped across the face with a hammer.
Hay dad I made my car louder......dad: Why the f would you do that dumbass
Hay dad I got these new cool rims dad: Why the old ones still worked
......its a wounded I even have a car
Maybe it was my way of rebelling against his attitude towards cars?

Nope lol.
My dads been smoking weed for 30 years.
He's just a up tight business man. His brain works off of if you dont need it to live or make money then there is no need for it ever end of conversation lol.

Cars are a only a machine that gets him to work and home. Seriously he use to use his Audi A4 as a truck dumping sand rocks plants or what ever you have to do in to it.
And as a person who has owned his used cars he will tack on around 200-500,000 miles on a car only change the oil tire brakes.
Oh my god those cars were so worn out by the time I got them nothing worked everything was broken. I remember my old Mercedes Benz the dash would crack when driving it. Had the paint peel off driving it. He uses a car to the point it has a few months left in it or a year. And only buys German so repairs are bankruptcy if they happen.
So when he sees a nice car or custom car his words are what a waist of good money go buy a house or get a real hobby loser.
Yet he will not shut up about his 70s BMW or Toyota Celica only 2 cars he loved.
I grew up in his 1978 & his 1979 BMW 320i we had 2 both had over 600,000 miles when he got rid of the.

I remember watching him read a map and shift with his knee and steer with his knee O.O he may not like cars but god damn I have seen him do some crazy cool things in a manual transmission car. He still can he drove my Camaro to see if I got a good car still can shift and drive like that. Have not seen him smile like that in decade and a half behind the wheel

I have a 21 year old driving a 2004 Monte Carlo LS who is coveting an 06 or 07 Monte SS because, as he says, it's a V8. And my 18 year old has mentioned more than once that he is glad the 05 Camry he is driving has a V6, so all is not lost with the millennial generation.

A young millennial (engineer) that I work with put a turbo on his VW and developed a rod knock. He pulled the engine that same day and tore it apart so he could take the block to a machine shop. Old school. All is not lost!

Every young person I know under say 25 years old does not care two cents about owning a nice Car. They don't care about today's Muscle Cars. They love youtube and Internet and playing games online. Many like the Prius. I'm predicting by 2030 GM will no longer make the Camaro or Corvette. By 2035 90% of the populace will be driving Prius type vehicles or they will walk or take public transportation ... Sad.
