This Zeta Chassis is also being used for the 08-09-10 Impala, whatever the year.
The impala iMO is more suited to compete with the 300c, so not to have AWD on the Impala would be stupid. Therefore, all wheel drive is in the cards. But they might not introduce it to the Camaro untill after it's out for a few years.... |

Come now. With all the power this thing will be putting to the ground - you'd be smart to keep it on! GM is doing you a favor by saving your life someday.
The Corvette's can be turned off. But multiple, different review companies all said, basically: for your own safety, please keep it on. This beast is just too strong. I have to poke you-you don't have to worry about too much power in a stang, anyways.....sorry.....heehee |

AWD would seriously help. Being on topic...hehe...I got the opportunity to drive and EVO last night. Um....yeah....it moved. Increadible traction from the get go. No tire spinning. Just turbo..spoolin...and mooooovin. It sounded great. I hit 7500 rpm in no time. The darn thing sounded funny, but OMG, how cool it would be for this to be installed in a CAMARO. It would EAT everyone elses lunch and never look back. That one only had like 290hp, I think. But, it was extrememly light.
AWD for sure in this Camaro. It isssssss sweeeeeeeet......... |

AWD on the Camaro with 450-600hp, that roots style blower (makes a bigger difference off the line) and fat tires, and you will destroy anything off the line.

sure, it would also destroy your wallet, but I agree, That would the ideal car, nothing short of a corvette could stop it!

I would be all over an AWD Camaro option! Not only will it help with traction but it will also help the Camaro to handle much better in the snow! Of course I can see the traditional muscle car crowd cry out in agony.

No AWD for me. I know what benefits AWDs have to offer, but I'm not sure it is such a good thing for a car like the Camaro. Besides we already give all those EVOs and STis something to think about without the AWD. |

Turbo slayer!
You have to start looking at it more like a Porsche Turbo killer rather than an EVO slayer...
With 550hp (supercharged 6.2L) and AWD, that's about the only thing (other than perhaps a Lambo, or Bugatti) that would give you a run for your money. With this much torque and HP, the car would just rocket forward. Yes, when the asphalt is dry, RWD would give those's EVO's something to think about, but in anything but the driest, warmest day, and EVO will eat you for lunch! I am not so sure why everyone is concerned about the cost... GM already has an AWD system capable or being dropped right into the Camaro. Its in the Silverado SS! This truck has similar HP&TQ and weighs even more (stronger driveline), and its still wicked fast! I'd say they should take this system, drop it into the Camaro, give us the 600hp Z07 engine, and call it the LT10! ( 2010 version of the LT1). ~LSx |

Hey if Chevy can manage to give the top Camaro AWD, and a S/C 6.2L engine, and IRS, and keep it down to around 3500lbs, and have it still be a bargain for the pocket book then I am game.
All of that would be great, but I am just not expecting it to happen. Plus I just like RWD. The Z06 already the Porshe Turbo slayer and it manages with just RWD. |

I would be all over an AWD Camaro!!! I live in Michigan and have a 2005 Subaru STi for my daily driver, so it might make my choice obvious already. Slap on my snows in the winter and it is more fun than driving on dry pavement in the summer. Nothing like driving at a normal to spirited pace instead of having to gently creep out of each corner trying not to spin the tires.
