Well it was in the 80's today, and thanks to a last minute invitation for a cruise up the way to Lake Tahoe, I was able to stretch my legs. I joined a 45th anniversary SS and two sunset orange metalic firebirds (firehawk and a ws6). We drove up Mormon Emigrant Trail until we hit snow and then turned around for a quick makeshift photoshoot and then cruised back down the trail and back down the hill towards Sacramento. It felt great to actually go cruising again for the first time in over 6 months. Also on a side note, after putting over 17000 miles on the car over the first year of ownership, I hit 18,000 today on the way home. 6 months exactly to drive just under 1,000 miles this year.

I haven't been posting here much as of late since starting my new job and dealing with life, but something interesting happened about 20 minutes ago.
I was contacted by someone on Facebook asking if I was the original owner of Blue Rush. Naturally I struck up a conversation with him and found out that he purchased the car from a Ford dealership in Sunnyvale (I traded the car in down in SoCal at Buena Park) and his buddy with a GT-R found me. He's in central California too! Since this is the first car that I really was part of a community for, it's pretty cool that a) I know where it is, and b) the new owner is an enthusiast. I look forward to seeing the new owner's take on the car is and how the build goes. |

Nice... but Blue Rush will never be the same as when you had it.

Maybe. I still have a bunch of my old aftermarket parts. The new owner is interested in purchasing some or all of them so he'll be well on his way to putting the car back to the way I had it.
Speaking of customizations. I have an appointment for some paint to be done this upcoming week. I'm getting really excited to finally have the subtle tweaks begin to happen. =) |

Unfortunately, the paint work was pushed back a few days, but the shop paid for a rental car, and even fixed the rock chips in my front bumper without me asking. The paint accents were very subtle but I really feel they change the dynamic of the vehicle. The car looks much more aggressive and stands out, the contrast being a quality that really drew my eye to the Z/28's are Baytown's Camaro Fest. The gloss black accents are as follows:
Headlight blackout Taillight blackout Fog light bezel upper and lower front grill side skirts rear valence Without further typing, here are the initial pictures. I'll be taking much better pictures this weekend. |
