It's not a 69 Z/28 but an 68 blue rally stripe, all
matching numbers 327 2 speed powerglide on the colum
and she is awesome.
That, I LIKE!

When I was 20 my dad found a 67 selling for $2K in need of minor mechanical work n paint. When I finally got the money it was no longer for sale and the owner was going to put it together and back on the track. Once I saw the 5th gen in TF I knew I was going to get one.

Been working 2 jobs and felt the need to move up in the world. I was thinking about getting a few cars before the camaro, I wanted a g6 gxp, a cobalt ss, and a g8. I realized all of these were either too expensive (g8 gt) or not enough umph. Then when I heard that the camaro was getting the LLT and should start around 20k I knew that was the car for me. I really don't want to part with my cavalier because it's the first car my dad and I restored and it's the only second gen z24 in my area so it gets a lot of looks and comments. but I'm afraid I might need to sell her to get enough money for the camaro especially with the RS option
*high five* I thought I was the only one in here sporting a Cavalier. I completely hear ya about how you came to the conclusion for the Camaro. The Cobalt is a pretty amazing machine for it's class but your right, there's just something about it that doesn't quite fit as an upgrade for our situations. I think I even looked into a Tiburon and a Solstice, until I learned that the Solstice get's poor gas mileage and hardly has trunk space, plus the only model with the Turbo Charged Ecotec in it is a manual. The Tiburon sounded like a great idea after awhile until I learned that the lower class model was only a 4 cylinder and in order to get the true experience and power out of a Tiburon was to get the V6 GT...and those are still just not quite powerful enough for the money. That's when I think getting the Camaro made the most sense to me, when I heard about it's suggested price tag for the lower end models. I also wholeheartedly agree with your parting issues on your Cavalier. My Cav was the last thing that my Grandfather helped me get after my POS Ford Escort got totalled. My grandfather passed away about 2 years after he helped me get the Cavalier. So nonetheless, it holds a lot of attachment, hard work, and lots of time and effort into transforming her into what she is today. She may not be pushing 200+HP but I for one am proud of what I've accomplished with my Cavalier.

If your not already on clubcav.com....do it!

later!

I believe it was in 1969/1970...

My dad, uncles and family friends all had all types of muscle cars while i was growing up. My dad had a 60 impala convertible with a 348 big block, 66 caprice 327 with performance package, 67 impala fastback, 68 corvair and numerous other chevy's and gm cars. My dad started with chevrolet and ended up at cadillac. My uncle had a 67 442 400 ci 4 speed close ratio, 69 dodge bumble with 383, 70 dodge road runner with 440 and 70 454 Chevelle SS midnite blue with black stripes.
I've allways ranked my cars in my wish list. 1.70 454 LS6 Chevelle SS 2.67-69 Camaro 3. 63-67 Stingray 4. 67 chevelle ss 5. 70 nova ss 6. 55 chevy 7. 70 roadrunner. I could list alot more cars but I'll stop here.

When my dad got back from his first trip to Vietnam in early '67 he went down to the Chevy dealer and picked up a brand new blue Camaro with white vinyl interior.

250 cu in L6
Dog dish caps
3 spd manual
No A/C
No power brakes
No power anything.
AM Radio.

It was about as much of a base model as one could get. My dad still had the car years later when I came of age and learned that even though it lacked all the power and extras of an SS/RS...etc...it was still a Camaro. And I loved that car.

and then some drunk bitch in an LTD ran a stopsign and totalled it before I got my license.

i never got my 1st gen, I owned a 3rd and 4th but...meh . they weren't really inspiring cars

I love car movies. I'll have to find "Better Off Dead" and get it to watch. In the meantime, I just bought Transformers and will watch it for the first time tonight.
