1LT Weight!

I let my 1LT get down to where there was about 3.5 gallons of fuel left in the tank and went and weighed my car. I parked it on the scales wrote down the reading then got out. With me out of the car it weighed exactly 3700 pounds. The scales also reflected my weight after getting out. I've been doing a hard break in and this car runs very strong. I thought the 1LT would be about the lightest of the breed since it doesn't have spoiler heated seats and such. My car did not come with the spare tire which probably shaved a few pounds. It would be interesting to see what an LS would weigh and compare these two to the 2LT. My 1 LT has the 19" polished aluminum wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tires and I figure their pretty close in weight to the 18" heritage wheels but would be lighter than the 20" wheels on the RS. What you guys think? I just rolled over a thousand miles early this morning and got the car on 09-23. For the record I'm very pleased with the way my 3.6 runs and handles.

The heritage wheels are steel, and just looking at them they appear to have a lot more mass, so I would be pretty sure they weigh a good amount more than your 19" aluminum wheels do. As for spoiler, thats not going to add very much weight, maybe 10 lbs at most. Heated seats I could definitely see adding more weight, however the very slight weight differences between LS, 1LT, and 2LT aren't going to add up to very much performance-wise.

But yes, the LLT engine is beautiful and I definitely have no trouble at all having fun in this car

Heated seats don't add much weight at all. It's a simple heating grid in the back and seat of the seat.

Ok, that makes sense So yeah, not going to be a whole lot of difference between packages then.

So a little under 3800 pounds with a full tank of gas and a little under 4000 pounds with a driver. Jeebus I was hoping to see better numbers then that. But thank you much for getting the research done.

But the power of the engine makes up for it, you can still have plenty of fun in these

Hehe my fun car is a 98 formula with 400+ at the wheels so I don't really care about the power here. But at near 4000 pounds I don't think this car will be too much fun in the canyons. Trying to rent one to find out

You also have about 50 lbs worth of muffler.

Time for a muffler delete?

At near 4000 pounds I don't see the point in removing the mufflers unless you want your car to be louder and free up a few horsepower.

A website that I have marked that lists the options and specs,
shows the base model 1LT with the 18" aluminum wheels to be
the lightest of all. 40 lbs. lighter than the LS with the heritage
wheels. Those steel wheels are heavy.

You think there would be much weight difference between the painted 18" wheels and B F Goodrich tires and the 19" polished aluminum wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires. I figure it would have to be less than the 40 lbs difference than with the 18" painted wheels and heritage wheels. I know the individual car drivetrain can easily make up the difference of a few hundred pounds difference in weight of two similar cars. There are just so many variables. Even the NASCAR drivers comment on having just a few cars that are better than the rest in their stable and they go to extreme measures to get the cars built the same. Weight is definitely a factor in a cars performance but the 2010 V-6 Camaro sure fills a niche with better performance than a V-6 Mustang or V-6 Challenger. The better fuel economy and the great looks with the pricing will only help the sales.
