auto all the way. I can have manual mode fun, sport mode fun or drive mode with the shifting like a Caddy. Plus, this was a cash for clunker and the V-6 auto was the only Camaro that qualified. Best all the way around!

Mines a manual. Wouldn't have it any other way. I taught my wife how to drive a stick back when we were in high school on her 89 RS 305 with a 5 speed, so no issues on that end. It's not very difficult to shift a manual trans. It will feel second nature after a month.

Manual vs. Auto

I commute 55+ miles daily in stop and go traffic. The Auto was the obvious choice. It is sure a nice option to have the manual mode for a little ripp'in around occasionally.

Auto. Wanted a manual, but I've grown fond of the tapshift when I use it. Plus I didn't want to wait just for the manual. I can live without one...........for now!

I wanted a manual but I drive 400 miles a week so I went with the auto... Every once in awhile I'm like I shoulda got that manual till i'm sitting in stand still traffic. lol. Gonna tune the tranny though and stiffen it up a little to give this auto a little more bang.

Manual. 30 - 40 miles commute to work but on highway. Even though when I-20 was closed last week due to brush fire, getting stuck in traffic going no faster than 5 mph for 2 and a half hours was no fun.

Besides traffic like that, I love driving my car.

Love manuals but 450000 miles in L.A. traffic in 30 years with manuals is quite enough for me! A6 works just fine and you have tapshift, I know not the same but at least you can have a choice. Besides 75% of cars sold are autos so I guess not that bad.

I just went to the car dealer and told the sales rep lady that I was set on buying a manual, but that I had never driven one before. I told her that if she wanted my business that she would have to teach me to drive stick. And so she did! I have already placed my order for a 2012 2LT Inferno Orange Camaro

Manual all the way for me. Manual cons: no remote start from the factory. Don't respond as well to FI and N2O. 500.00 will remedy the remote start though. Pros: full control of the car, LSD, more RWHP than auto.

Auto cons: Can't rev past 4k. L99's are that way too. Maybe the tune fixes that buzzkill. Wouldn't know. No LSD and more parasitic loss. Pros:The auto does a groovy little blip when downshifting in manual mode, responds better to nitrous and FI. Can more easily text and talk on your phone and eat in your car.....I kid.
