Heres is my view on your situation, i am a person who has a G8 and had a stock dod L76 motor with STS twin turbo system with 62mm turbos over the stock STS 38mm turbos.

Since you dont want to go nuts, and rip into the motor for a boost cam, or forged internals it is wiser to go the 1900 route. The fuel system will need to be addressed over 520whp at a safe afr, the automatic transmission if thats what u have, doesnt like 500whp for a long time, mine slipped big time at 500whp with 15000 miles on trans. Then u may run into drivetrain problems if u have the 2300 and crank it. It is a snow ball effect once over these numbers.

I found this out the hard way. I made 616whp 649wtq on 10 psi with a stock displacement on demand cam. Then turned it down to 500ish whp for the street. The trans slipped and banged the 6500rpm rev limiter even with rolling into the throttle for a couple of seconds, i let off imediately and over time, this combination took out piston number 7 with perfect 11.0 afrs and no knock. Ring land let go which is a known weak point on LS3 's and the variants.

The transmission was the biggest problem of my setup which lead to it taking out a motor, which led me to a Livernois pro mod 416 boost motor. Moral of the story, if u dont have deep pockets, stay with the 1900 and be happy with a very strong, useable and reliable setup.
