LT V6 Motor is blown! With only 9,000 miles on the clock...need help!

My position all along here has been that the Manufacturer and consumer enter into an agreement for warrantee repairs at the time of purchase. Regardless of whether you are in Canada or the U.S.

Yes the fact that the car has been out of services is not right. But, the end result is that there has been a vehicle provided for the owner here. That is hardly an inconvenience.

Ask yourself this.... Do the other Manufacturers do this? Does Toyota? Honda? Nissan? Chrysler? Ford? I honestly don't know Since I own a Camaro and a used Chrysler that is out of warrantee.

I do agree however that there is a lot of work needed by all the Manufacturers and suppliers, regardless of make for ensuring timely supply of parts and replacements.

I dont think anyone Is auguring that point its the point of buying a new car and getting a rebuilt motor with some little miles on the car.

I'd wholeheartedly agree with the OP and as you've noted the situation isn't right, nor has it been righted in a proper and timely fashion........44 days with-out the car is unreasonable. I think you're painting the term inconvenience with a pretty narrow paint brush. A minor inconvenience to one person can be a logistical and financial nightmare for another................ in addition to not having the car they chose to own and drive as noted, and we don't know the varibles pertaining to this particular individual. Inconvenience can run the gammet.............What if, the OP were moving across country, providing support for a sick or dying family member elsewhere, serving our country in the military over seas, traveling abroad, or simply wanting to get on with life in general with out the unwarranted inconveniences............................and in as much, it is a marketplace of mass production where untimely failure comes into play, and the situation become a obvious and inordiante burden on the consumer of no fault of their own, there surely must have been some planning on the builders of these cars to provide customer satisfaction if those scenarios arrose.

Who cares what the other manufactures may or may not be offering customers in comparision. The OP supported GM and GM needs to get the think tanks thinking.................... situations like these aren't going unnoted.

You might wanna check the lemon laws in your state right now. In Florida at least, if your car is out of commission for 15 or more days, you are automatically entitled to a substantially similar vehicle or your money back. You just gotta fill out the paperwork. Im sure your State has similar lemon law statutes.

Just my 2 cents, but I'd rather have a new car then a completely rebuilt engine which has hundreds of components, each of which has to be built correctly.

After reading that your car has been out of commission for over 40 days, you really need to get a lawyer now. I can almost guarantee that you'll be given a new car.

My states law is over 30 days. The problem is that if they are able to fix my car I'll have trouble with a lemon law suit as they will just say they fixed the car. The lemon law is flexible and vague on purpose.
However if I don't get the car back by this Friday my lawyer says I have an almost 100% chance of winning a case as the amount of days the car would have been in the shop will be over 46.

Thus if I don't get this car back by Friday all fixed up to new hell will be set loose. I'll contact all my local media outlets and offer them my story as well as the evidence that this is more a wide spread problem that it appears. NO taxpayers want to hear that their money went to bailing out a company that treats its customers so horribly.

Not to mention I've been saving since I was seventeen and started my job as a recreation assistant for mentally disabled children's programs. Additionally now at the age of 20 I have been promoted to staff overseer/specialist.

They would love the story. "20 year old who works with mentally disabled children rewarded with broken new Camaro and a ton of headaches, story follows." Haha even I laughed at that one.

FYI, the sticking accelerators are more due to idiot drivers and bad floor mats than what the factory or designers did. It's been proven virtually all of the "stuck accelerator" fiascos were hoaxes. That guy who called 911 and had the police get in front of him to bring his car to a stop is lucky Toyota isn't suing him for slander because they could surely win.

Wednesday and still no call so I took it upon myself to call the dealer. First they told me they STILL haven't received the parts! They then called back to say they do have the parts and "expect" the car to be ready by Friday.

Well this little mix up was enough to officially piss my dad off so now GM has two angry customers to deal with.

So basically its day 42 and they STILL are not sure they will have my car ready.

Got it back, car seems to be running okay....as of now its a successful rebuild.
