Anyone just tapped into the abl power? So that the lights are on when the abl is and it dims with them? I did and I just wanted to see if anyone knew the life expectancy of these? Since mine will be on more than if I had them on a switch because I would forget about them lol

Sending PM's.

2LT/SS cars can tap this into the ABL circuit. Others tie into the dash lighting, which is dimmable.

These are not driven hard, so, the life should be very long.

So if you get your kit.... is it all plug, so no cutting or tapping wires? Also will the lights all be hooked to my abl??

It could be all plug-and-play if you have an aversion to t-taps or soldering.

Normally, we connect to the dash lighting circuit, but, if you want it hooked to the ABL circuit, you can do that.

Here is my turqoise SJM cup holder with the blue sharpie mod, it does not get closer to the stock GM aqua blue than this,

Here is how I did it.

I used the dry erase marker on the first pic just for the test because I could wipe it off clean.
but for the final install I used a blue permanent sharpie, I just colored one cup holder at a time then wipe some of it with a paper towel, don't let it dry, then do the other cup holder and then wipe it off, the plexy looks perfect, no streaks just looks like the plexy has a blue hue.

Here is the permanent marker I used for the final install

Or if you are brave enough to take apart your cup holder you could just use the sharpie on the LED itself like Tony did on his door handle LED

Just added a comparison pic to the first post. It shows a blue LED and one with Kapton tape applied. Duplicated here. Blue on right, with Kapton on left.

If you mean all the ABL on my 1LT

Door panels are wired to the yellow and black wire on the wiring harness for the power window switches

Passenger dash ABL is wired to the yellow and black wires on the wire bundle behind the passenger side kick panel on the footwells

Driver Side dash ABL, same as above but on the wire bundle behind the driver side footwell kick panel

And the cup holder is wired to the yellow and black wires on the wiring harness for the traction control switch on the center console,

Everything comes on and off at the same time and can be dimed with the stock dimmer switch.

Talk to Tony @ sjmautoprod he can set you up with everything, (except the door panels that let the light shine through if you have a 1LT/1SS or a LS)
