Well the building is done! It took six weeks from the pad prep to where we are now. Should start the electrical, mechanical, and framing this week. With any luck another 6 to 8 weeks should have it pretty close to done.

I will post up some pics tomorrow.

Congrats on the building! Thanks for arranging the weather for me. Our weekend was literally perfect. I felt bad about it to the extent so many in Texas are in harm's way with the wild fires.

I am glad you had a good time! I wish I could affect the weather, so I could send about 7 days of a good slow soaking rain to everyone in the rest of the Texas. The only reason we are not having fires here is there is not much to burn. Desert looks about like the dead of winter around here. I pray this drought breaks soon.

Sorry abot the lack of updates, work kicked my butt last week. Here are a couple of pics of where we are now.
Kind of a slow week of progress, but we built the electrical service, wired the compressor and set the A/C units on the roof. lumber should be delivered on Monday so with a little luck we can get to framing on Tuesday.
Also had to move the motor home in as the plant needed the space in the back for pecans. Going to try to get the floor in the dry storage area sealed on Monday because I have a load of boxes in the middle of where the sanctuary is to be built.

Looking good! You have a pecan orchard on the river?

Well our farm is in the valley, about 1/2 mile away from border fence and dried riverbed. I think it has been about three years since the river ran. It is all diverted for irrigation, from Colorado to El Paso County. It does get wet again about 100 miles down stream.

Mike,

Your RV almost (I say ALMOST) makes your shop look nromal in size. Well almost

We finally got a nice rain last night. The storm rolled in with a good amount of lightning and very little rain. I was out on the deck every five or ten minutes expecting wild fires everywhere. Then came real rain. It has to be my imagination, but everything looked greener today.

From the radar, it didn't look like rain in your area. Did you get any?

Well I figured out why my new phone was taking such crappy pictures....I forgot to remove the plastic from the lens.

Ok now we are starting to move again. Lights up in the shop, and some of the lumber was delivered for the sanctuary, framers start in the morning.
