You might put the bath on same wall as kitchen... one wet wall, one vent, simpler plumbing. Gonna be a bathroom in the garage?

I like the beer chute!

I'm sure there's some builders and architects than can critique this, but it gives you 1 wet wall, a hallway to break up living spaces, access to a HUGE bathroom from bedroom or hall, blabla... anywho... gives you something to work off of.

Park one of these on the wall next to the can chute and you wont have to worry so much about over running the bin in the garage during big party nights...

Is all the plumbing going to be on the outside of the structure? I didn't see any feed water piping or drains in the slab???

Holy Crap Mister...

that is awesome... wish I knew how to do all of that.. I tried to use google sketchup... but could not figure it out. that is so cool though, thanks I will look at it in more detail.

I think we put the water drains in the wrong side now. They are on the north wall, you have the wet wall on the south side. Will look at it more closely tonight.

You have not spent much time in michigan have you!!

if you crush your cans... you cannot take them back for your 10 cent deposit. The machines need to be able to read the bar code.

Nope.. the north wall has all of our electric, sewer, water, and natural gas in the slap already.

If you haven't framed for the stairwell yet, you can just flip-flop it. My plan may not have enough headroom at the stairwell either, easy enough to fix tho. Unless you do a U-shape stairwell it's gonna take up some real estate in the garage.

The plumbing can always be ran anywhere, it's just easier when it's all together... What is gong to be on gas? Water heater? Oven?

Uhmmm, other than landing in Detroit on British Airways on the way to Egypt, I've never set foot in Michigan... I'm hoping that changes before too long... The pics you've been posting from there are amazing... I suppose my naive mental image was everything there looked like Detroit pictures... but you've educated me how that's not the case at all...

Wow I love this idea. Would love to live over a big garage lol. Buy a real house when kids come along, and when my son gets of age, let him live in the garage house :P. i really love this concept lol. great work man.

getting wrapped up for the winter.

Soffet and Fascia are up.... Siding, window and door installation at the top of the list now!!

below are some pics of the man doors, better views of the upstairs loft with 3 lake facing windows and the rear with a smaller window and slider. You can kind of see the bedroom size, from the staircase to the end wall with slider.

Garage doors and siding are ordered and we are just waiting.

Coming along nicely.

BTW...what's this "winter" you speak of?

Can't you just build year round?
