1LE for 1LE
I wonder if they would trade even up, my 98 1LE for the new one? My 98 has been awesome. It has been raced and driven on the street. best of both worlds.

I would definitely go for this. But please add HID and HUD as an option!

My guess is this is the beginning the of the Z28. Going under this 1LE concept just helps to get the opinion of the looks and options. Maybe this will expand into a new engine offering at the Detroit or LA auto show. But naming it a Z28 concept probably won't happen until after the ZL1 is in full production.
Then again, maybe the 1LE will just be an add option for the SS. This could be the case if the Z28 re-introduction is scheduled for the Gen6. It would certainly be a marketing splash that doesn't directly match up with a Mustang.

When I personally look at the list of changes on this concept, I see 2/3 of it as appearance mods, and some of the others actually add weight! The 5th gen Camaro is too heavy, and a 1LE version needs only to focus on weight to be successful on the track. |

Yeah, race cars dont have huds or hids, could probably remove the fog lights too. anything to save weight and be a true tack car.

- Electric power steering
- Lightweight 20x10-inch (front) and 20x11-inch (rear) racing wheels (satin black) - Brembo® six-piston front calipers, with two-piece front rotors, and four-piston rear calipers (Chevrolet Official Licensed Product) - Dual exhaust outlets with ZL1-style active exhaust and diffuser These items show weight loss and or power gains, any guesses of how much? |

It's all assumption at this point.. I guess we should all just be quiet and not say anything then that doesn't follow along with sheeple commentary then? I thought part of the point was to solicit opinion and general thoughts from those that they would be targeting.

I believe that the 1LE is the basis for a new Z/28 model, heres some of my reasoning, right or wrong it's just what I have noticed. The top photo is from gm design studio and the next lower one was thought to be a track pack ZL1 but we know now that is not the case since the optional equipment list was released recently. My personal observation is centered on the new 1LE concept and the green camaro test car wearing ZL1 parts with an LS/LT nose piece which is clearly not just a suspension test car especially seeing how this car has a unique hood of its own under cover for prying eyes not to see. The supercharged ZL1 already has a special dual intake box so it does not need a ram air intake like a natural aspirated engine would need for breathing enhanced performance. GM has stated the ZL1 is showroom stock to be track ready. GM never test models that are just concepts, that would be a waste of money so we will see another special performance camaro for 2013 in my opinion for us who just cannot afford the price premium of the almighty ZL1.
