yeah, I sorta thought that was the point of buying a Nismo. Guess not

IMO the NISMO has become nothing more than expensive pep-boy ricer add ons. There is very little if any performance gains for all that extra money. You get cool seats, some stickers, and 20 extra hp that really doesn't make any meaningful differences in performance numbers. If I were going to track a Z I'd take that NISMO money and go aftermarket.

If you want a track Z, you go base + aftermarket every time. Take that extra cash and drop it on a new intake/exhaust and TT which will put you at 500+ rwhp. Toss in a new shortblock and some harder parts and break 800, but NISMO is, IMHO a joke. It's no more track ready than the base. The Z is an autox car and can be a drag or track car with some $$ but far more $$ than a Camaro or a stang + SC.

That being said I would still pick the Camaro between the 2. Price Vs Performance stock just can't be matched by anything else just yet.

Also it has to be a 4 seater so my boy can ride in the back. Thats not even taking into account that it just looks way meaner than a Nismo.
hmmm zr1 i think not

Exactly...ZR1 destroys the ricer GTR in every performance category possible. Come to think of it, so does the Z06.

Too bad not everyone wants to spend $40K on a car and then immediately void the entire warranty by adding all kinds of aftermarket upgrades. Especially forced induction.

The GTR isn't a ricer and they are quite close in a few categories, though the ZR1 does have the advantage. The Z06 on the other hand is bested in handling and 0-60 while it maintains a strong advantage in mid range acceleration.
