What does the ZL1 have, suspension wise, that will help it in the 1/4 mile? Everything I have read about will only help it on the road course.
I only heard about the MR and air flow with the stronger driveline. I hadn't heard that there is a launcher mode any above the SS. Tires are better but the car was made for the road course. I think GM is pretty smart for it. Acceleration sells cars but I think this may change the muscle/pony game a bit.

Not sure. I'll have to take your word for it.

Awe, come on. That's not really fair to call him an idiot. He admited that he was a newb. And who would pass up the opportunity? I give him kudos for wanting to and doing it.

Well I wouldn't say its a all new launch control but it does sound like it's re-tuned for the ZL1 and it also has a drag launch setting. If I remember right it also optimizes the suspension for drag racing while in the drag mode.

I've never seen the automatic mentioned with launch control. Anybody KNOW about the auto launch features? Similar?

Good question. The SS doesn't have it so I'd be curious to see how it's implemented.

I forgot about those.

Ya, according to that video and the OP video the guy driving in the OP of this thread did NOT have launch control on.

My guess would be a aggressive traction control setting for "drag" mode. Just a guess though....

The odd thing is he says he uses it during the second run but it just does not seem like it. Probably had it in the wrong setting......

OH heck ya. He didn't get it on successfully. When they had it on in the vid you just posted that thing was smooth as hell. Slipping a bit but much more controlled.

Too bad too. It would have been a good showing if he had run 13+ as a newb and then hit drag mode and run 21.3 or something.

But, but, but

The ZL1 has computer suspension, launch control, wide tires.

It'll hook better than any car on the road, even in stock form.
