There are plenty of things they can make you remove from your car, illegal lighting, window stickers that obstruct view. Loud mufflers. In Tennessee they can even make you remove Nitrous bottles. Definitely they can make you remove illegal tint.

It looks good. Although, a friend of mine had 20% on the windshield and one night could not see anything through an area with very to little light. Crashed and totaled the car (he survived).

Not sure what the point is in tinting the whole windshield in the first place I have a tint strip and I'm going to make it 8" instead of the 4" it is now. Just be careful. I got a $200 ticket in my b/f's car (who is a LEO, btw) for having 20% tint on the side windows. My camaro has 20% tint as well. It's a chance we take but I venture to say, they will make you remove that on the spot if you get caught. They can also tow your car if you get pulled over for any tint cuz it is a safety hazard, its a stretch but just something to keep in mind.

I don't see how blocking off 80% of the light entering your car can be safe, especially at night. Hope you never tint your headlights too...Oh is that 20% include the factory tint or does that increase the total tint even more?

well after 2 years with front tint wife got her first ticket. Whopping 116 dollars. We will pay it and keep it on the car. For the time frame and the safety and coolness (heat) that it provides my wife it is worth it to me. In fact, the night time driving is even better with less glare.

There are reasons they do not give drivers licenses to people with 80% loss of sight.... Think about it...

I'm very sad to see this attitude in a number of posts here on Camaro5. It is the same mindset displayed by those who text and drive. They simply don't give a rats ass if they hurt anyone, including themselves.

Whatever happened to honor in doing the right thing, and respect for laws which are in place for the safety of fellow citizens?

well I dont text and drive but if I had a dollar every time I saw someone doing it I could buy another camaro, tinted windows are not that dangerous and I dont think there is 1 related death accounted to tinted windows!

Guess I'm a little late to the witch hunt...

First off Camaro 5 should be about sharing in our one true love, cars. It should not be about criticizing, talking crap or otherwise denigrating someone else's car. I hate seeing a build thread or modification run down like this where people have so many negative words to say. The owner stated from the beginning that he knew this was illegal. He stated that it was to be seldom driven at night. I digress.

Personally I live in Vegas where it's sunny like 340 days a year. Here 5% tint on the sides and back is the norm and we don't even get looked at twice for lightly tinted front windows. My sides are 20% and my front is 35%. Been on the car 3 years and having been pulled over 3 times I have to say it was never noticed. They did pull me over for colored forward facing lights, even though my halo's are amber, but yes very close to red, thanks AAC... That's where having a Corporal in the NHP comes in handy.

Having a lightly tinted front window is no more dangerous than wearing sunglasses. In fact I don't wear sunglasses, just my regular prescription glasses for driving. At night HID headlights take care of any darkness issues and the tint takes down the glare from on coming traffic. Drive in movies are not possible any more.

Now the fact that I live in Vegas and have out of state license plates, Drivers license and insurance is another matter. Or the fact my registration is up... Let's see what kind of comments I get??? In italian accent, "I'll get it taken care of, fuuugetabout it!!!"
