If you have to argue that your car is a super car, guess what? Its not a supercar!

How about just for today, like a one day special, we make the ZL1 a Supercar! I did find a list of Supercars on the "Internet" that has it listed. Also the Mustang, challenger, charger, CTS, ford focus, ford fiesta, Subaru brz, Toyota Camry, Honda accord, and my favorite Supercar on that list the Ford F-150! Say what, come on, it's the internet where anything goes. Just add whatever you want to the list. Funny thing I didn't see an actual Supercar on the list......

All I know for certain is mine is faster than I can handle. Goes around a turn crazy fast, and I love the look and the sound! Plus the trunk easily holds a body, so I've been told.

I thought these type of threads where strictly for fun and grins. Can't imagine anybody takes any of this nonsense seriously. Life's way too short, it's all about having some laughs and de-stressing from life's daily grind. I just watched Chasing Classic Cars on Velocity and Wayne was helping a family auction off their dad's Ferrari, he passed away, so the family auctioned it and gave all the proceeds to various charities. He bought it new, only owner, in 1967 for $14,500. The first bid came in at 10 million, 2nd bid 16 million. Sold for 25 million plus another 2.5 mil in auction fees. Supercar??? Super Expensive Car that's for sure!

So does this mean a 1969 Camaro ZL1 COPO in a supercar? It would fit the definition!

It's an incredible performer for a modern muscle car!!! You seam confused about what the thread is about. The thread isn't titled does the ZL1 perform like a supercar? Yes those are stock numbers for a SRT-4 with dealer installed turbo upgrade and suspension that's why I'm using it as an example of a great performer that is NOT a super car. Just like the ZL1. And finally I'm here because I own a Camaro. Notice the sig photo?

Why would it break? Do you know anything about a stage 3 SRT-4? Do you know what suspension componets were installed with the stage 3 suspension upgrade at the dealership? Do you have any idea how much power the 2.4 liter motor was capable of before you had to worry about breakage? Do you understand that the SRT-4 was over 1000 pounds lighter than a Camaro. Do you understand why weight is even an issue when road racing?

Supercars are expensive huh? Luckily parts for a ZL1 can be bought at auto zone and are fairly cheap.

I am not confused, I know the title is the ZL1 a supercar? If you notice I never called it a supercar, I said it performs like supercars. Before the ZL1, how many stock Camaros could even compete with much less beat on a road track the likes of the Carrera S. Would you consider the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 or the Ferrari 458 Italia a supercar? For a $56,000 car to even come close to theses cars is amazing. Time has changed things. Would you compare a P-51 Mustang with an F-22? They aren't really even close but they are both fighters. Try to define muscle car, pony car, sports car or supercar in today's environment and lines begin to blur. What do you call a station wagon that can run the 1/4 mile 12.6 stock? I think one of the other posters was right, its a super muscle car.

Or how about the 2012 & 2013 COPO's. I read somewhere that Richard Rawlings, Gas Monkey Garage, has some deal going on with 20 of these builds. Not sure, but I thought I saw one went for $125,000. No lotto on these, they're open to anybody who's got the cash to spend.

The copo is a 1/4 mile car, cannot be compared to any supercar.

I don't think so. Pretty sure there are less than 100 made per year and you do actually have to enter a lotto to win a chance to buy one.

Welcome to 2013COPOCAMARO.COM, a site established by Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage and Dennis Collins of Collins Bros Jeeps to promote and sell what we consider to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase and specify your own CRC (Certified Race Chassis). Build your own COPO Camaro BODY-IN-WHITE Program Car. These are the rarest Camaros ever offered and built at the COPO plant. Only 20 are being produced. There's no lottery system; we're selling them on a first-come-first-serve basis. You get to specify or use your own drivetrain. Please read the press release for full details. Many of these will be true one-off cars. Word is that they will not be produced again.

In 2012, 69 COPO cars were produced. In 2013, 69 more COPO cars are scheduled to be produced (all are pre-sold). There are 20 Build Your Own COPO Camaro BODY-WHITE Program Cars serialized 1-20 all built and soon to be released. Go to Cars For Sale Page for Availability. These are incredibly rare! The actual build certificates for available cars are issued in the name of Gas Monkey Garage with the exception of car #13 which is issued to Dennis Collins. Cars are available without drivetrains for immediate delivery.

Payment in full is required for initial car purchase. If you want the car completed turn-key, we will quote that when you select your drivetrain. Once drivetrain is specified and funds are received in full, please allow 1-5 months completion time depending on the engine you chose. The end of COPO production is estimated to be late October 2013.

It's not a super car... But with that being said it's fast as hell, gets more looks from girls, & you don't look like a A hole to everyone else... My M6 was twice the price and I get 10x the looks and respect in this thing!
