Because New York road salt made the bottom of my Jeep look like swiss cheese.
Slushy, salt and grime encrusted floormats are a no go in my Camaro. THat's what the jeep is for.
I have two 4wd vehicles, an Acadia and a lifted Jeep Wrangler on 33" MTR-K tires. why would I drive a lowered car with 400+ HP/TQ on 275 fr/315 r SUMMER tires when I have two safer, more efficient 4wd vehicles? I once read that if you wad your car in freezing temps on summer tires, that your insurance company may not honor your claim.

All of that being said. As soon as the snow melts, and we've had a good rain, my car goes on the road and I drive it daily. All spring, summer, and fall. In the rain. I have no garage, but I keep my car covered under a covercraft noah cover all winter. I wash and wax the car regularly. It still looks brand new.

As for people driving a 100k supercar daily in the winter........ well, it's their car, their money. Chances are, if you can afford a 100k car...then you can probably afford TWO 100k cars LOL I can only afford ONE 40k camaro, so I'm trying to keep it new looking for as long as I can

The only thing that sucks about this is that those north east rust buckets get put on auction after being traded in and someone like me ends up with them. I transfer'd back to Virginia last spring and traded in my motorcycle for a jeep that looked like it was in great shape till i got it home and took it through a car wash that sprayed the under-body and took off the cover up paint to reveal a rusted out frame. found out the jeep just came from New York to virginia through a couple dealerships and i got screwed in the end. was going to cost me over $6,000 to get the jeep road worthy.

I have a lot of blood, sweat, tears and money tied up in my Camaro. It's still in perfect show room condition if not better almost 4 years later. Less than 10K miles. It will be in a garage forever.

Even if I had a shitty Integra that I cared about I would. Price doesn't mean anything to me.
Rather keep the car looking as fresh as possible. The winter subjects your car to a lot of abuse
My car is daily driven except for winter
And it's definitely driven hard
Heck car is great for parking up with your girlfriend too if you catch my drift
My camaro has seen it all
It's been caught in De icer

And who wouldn't garage their car if they could lol

I hear you loud and clear brother. I've had my TJ since 1997, I'm 5K deep into the rebuild and I haven't even gotten to the frame yet. Have you checked out the safe-t cap option? I'm planning on either that or a total frame swap.

There are three things I don't buy used: fast cars, motorcycles, and jeeps. Cause I know what I do to these things before I trade them in. The quarter inch dent in my rear gixxer tire should have warned the next buyer enough when I traded it in.

That frame swap sounds like a ton of work man.

My GN and my Camaro are "toy" cars, I've got 4X4 vehicles to drive in the salt. My 28 year old Gn looks new on the lift. My Camaro will be too. I'm just fussy, and I'm not changing! Hell, I have a 99 Pete 379 with 715000 miles that looks new too. Alot of work to keep that one that way.

I see plenty of Camaros daily and that is cool. I am a little envious. I choose to garage mine and drive it sparingly (2 years 7500 miles). I have no delusions it will be worth anything more than book. But some day when the best part of my week is going to a car show someone will say to me "nice car" then I know it will be worth it.

That is if I can keep my son away from it when he turns 17....

I have only seen one 5th gen since the first of December. Mine's been parked since Nov 1. Here's why.

just commented to my dad that i haven't seen a fifth gen in several weeks on the roads around here, I am not the only one that keeps em locked up this time of year, on an average day in july you will see a dozen of them, deep in winter none!

I've seen a few on the roads here and there but mostly challengers and mustangs.

I finally bought my first Camaro last November. I just want to keep it looking shiny and new, so it will never see the snow! And it has yet to see rain. I just sold my Jeep and I had way too much fun playing in the snow with that. My Camaro is like a bear in hibernation. It will be hungry for action when the weather gets nice.

OP I garage my Camaro and do not drive it all that often. But most of the time when I take it out I drive it like I stole it. Most of its miles so far are going back and forth to the drag strip.

Nothing wrong with keeping your car clean and out of the elements.
