from what i have seen from other posts and car reviews there is tiny advantage to 60 with a very good driver who can launch a stick well do to stickier and slightly wider tires. Slight disadvantage in the 1/4 because the 1LE has to shift into 3rd to finish the 1/4 because of the 3.91 gears. 1LE was designed for road courses it can pull a little harder in second, third and forth with the 3.91 gears. But the 1LE package is mostly its about carrying more speed into through and out of a corner and picking up your time there. But in 1/4 mile shifting just before the finishes is a killer go out to 3/8 of mile and its probably pulling away a little bit. From what I have read on a road course you live in 2nd 3rd and 4th and they designed the gearing to take advantage of the power in that window.60 and 1/4 times are very close and more about the driver then the car.

Funny how so many folks don't do their homework before dropping $35K-$45K for a new car. What can ya do?

1 - If you're looking for something that kicks butt on a road course... get the 1LE. 2 - If you want something that kicks butt in the 1/4 mile... don't waste your money on a 1LE. (You'll lose) 3 - If you don't really care about either... get what you like best and can afford.

I wish I had bought something else altogether, i.e. the corvette. but the 1LE was a simple choice for me. I looked at the cost of wheels and tires easily 2500 right there. that plus the red calipers cost to take off and powdercoat (at least 500), and I was pretty much at the cost of the 1le. and im a driving performance guy, not just straight line, so the remaining 500 was extremely easy to justify. on top of that, I sold my 1le wheels and tires for 3600 when they were still rare, so that paid for the package right now.
then the 3.91 gears, suede stuff, etc really made it an easy choice.

From time to time I wonder if I should have ordered mine with the 1LE package. I originally didn't get it because I wanted stripes and a gray interior. I then deleted the stripes from the order when my other half convinced me too ( I figure I can always get them painted on). After two weeks I tried to add the 1LE package but it was too late and it was built without it.
I love my car though so I shouldn't call it regret especially since I plan on keeping this car for life. Plenty of time to add the package myself little by little. |

Well one of the dealers that has the 1le has a left over 13 ss also so if the deal doesn't work on the 14 I might go for the 13. Its a awesome deal they offered I think for the 13 do we will see. I do love that style anyway and just excited to get in another manual ls car!

I went with a 2010 2SS instead of a 1LE for a few thousand less. Here is why:
I know I will get full aftermarket for exhaust. I know I will go aftermarket for wheels. Since I don't do track days I don't need the 1LE suspension even though I will upgrade a little bit from stock. This car is my daily driver and I feel 3.70 gears (I plan on a gear swap) after bolt-ons is better for my purpose than the 3.91s are. The decision is based on how YOU will use it. I suggest not buying it simply because "it's better for performance" if youre going to do a lot of street driving. Now if you're going to race....you better get the 1LE. |

That would be "road track" race. Not "drag strip" race.
