Also, as GM often does, has conflicting goals. Nice of you doing this on the company dime, but pretty sure while you are shirking your paid duties, GM would love the additional traffic in their showrooms.........if folks had to go to the dealership for this free service, they would have prospective customers in there looking over new vehicles.......like trading in their Camaro for a new one or a new Stingray....

Just saying, and dang, I am jaded.
U sound like so much fun

Yep, you protest too much. Thank you for being such a great charitiable humanitarian, staying up late after work to do this for everyone, gratis/free.

I am so sorry I am so jaded, it is my nature. I am sure you will NOT be sending any direct mail to anybody here...the marketing firm(s) you sold them too will take care of that.

This is an old trick folks. Here is a common one you see around New Year's when people are making resolutions to lose weight, better health.

Ever see a kiosk set up at the mall from a local gym; states: "enter your name and phone number for a raffle drawing for 2 free weeks at "MegaMuscle Gym & Notary Public".....well.....EVERYONE WINS THE 2 weeks. The small print states you must be over 18 and be accompanied by staff..........the staff is there to sell you on a MEGA membership, hopefully auto-billed from your credit card and is hell to cancel.

Sorry, worked with a clown who pulled stunts like this all the time, real pc. of work.

Good luck all. There is no such thing as a free lunch, getting junk mail and phone calls is still quicker to dump than driving to the dealer so it is a win/win.

Wow, I am less jaded than before.

If I was trying to scam people, do you think I would have over 500 posts on this forum and an entire build thread devoted to my personal Camaro? I am not selling anybodys information! hahaha WTH? Are you even serious man?

Seems like his problem with this has now become more about the risks involved, than the fact that it is "stupid" and "pointless", which is how he started out. Seems unable to make up his mind, but is curiously very interested in what the rest of us choose to do.

A) Matthew, thanks so much for my build sheet! I really appreciate it!

B) Not, settle down bro. It actually IS possible for someone to want to help out the Camaro5 community without having weird ulterior motives... It sucks for you that you go through life thinking every single person is out to get you...

Matt, again... Thanks buddy! I really appreciate it

Yea Matt, thanks again! If people really wanted to jack people with their VIN's they could have free reign at a shopping mall or parking lot or garages.
The other thing is, this forum has GM and more specifically to the brand, Camaro Reps on the forum who check out questions, answers and other things that pertain to GM so I'm sure if there was in fact an issue, something would have been said by now.

There was a guy back in 2010 who worked for GM and made the same offer then and I got a build sheet that I was very much appreciative for as I am now. I never had anything come to my house unwarranted or unsolicited after the fact.
Being a LEO, Indiana State for 34yrs come Sunday, the last thing that came to mind was a scam on this.
Yea you can probably get this info from the dealership but going into the dealership for this, you're not looking to buy, nor do they have the time or really want to do this for you. You may get it but you'll be there a while as this is not on their priority list of things to do. Just saying......

Thanks again!
