Back to back nights at Atco. But with great air and a Friday night the staging lanes were jammed. Pat and I did not run tonight. But I am closing the gap. Pat is "stuck" at 11.1-11.3 and my car is now a solid 11.6 car. I need to make a move before he gets a convertor. New best below at 6.0 pounds (#212). I am ashamed of my RT, but instead of trying to get another .0nn light I took my time and focused on the clutch catch point and feeding more throttle as the clutch engaged. Finally an okay 60'. And this was with NT555Rs @ 30 pounds. Not much spin, just as little. Also it was much easier to get 1.8s. I think the good air helped. A lot. My 60' was comparable to a worked auto CTS/V with ET Streets. Maybe I was just lucky.

On that run an SC CTS-V ran and hid from me because of my very sleepy light. At least it wasn't a Mustang. Two Fox bodies crushed me as well. But it was much more fun having so many fast cars around. At least the dump truck did not show up. By far the coolest car at the track was a mid 70s 500 CID stock looking Cadillac Sedan DeVille with white walls, a cam, and heads running high 12s. Also his burnout was huge! A Viper, A Mclaren, and an 8.5 second GT/R were also cool. But the super caddy wins my cool prize.

Thanks!!

http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/

and LS1Tech (I knew about this one)

http://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-induction-9/

Both of these are more hard core than anything on Camaro5. And both are not saddled with thought police. Be prepared.

I believe the technical term for that in drag circles is a "dick move"

some tracks kick you out for that

dick move yes

but its only a double bulb if the other car is prestaged

and even then - on test and tune night - the starter probably wont flip the switch until both cars are staged and ready to go

It makes for a good story but well whatever

the pdk can sit there all day - the starter may signal him to move in or back him up and let the mustang make a single.

Seen it many times

Now if this was competition - then its not considered a sportsman thing to do. But people still do it. Anything to get an advantage

Agreed about sportsmanship, it was just a fun thing. The fans wanted to see the Porches get beat. Heads up the $125,000 cars will win. And both times the Mustangs turned on both lights first before the Porches got to the lights.

I always try to pre-stage and wait as my burnouts are short. But every once in a while I mess up going too fast to the line. Still not as bad as the time I staged with my back wheels. That was early on, but DOH!

So the South Jersey Camaro Club is thinking about coming to Atco as a regular thing. That would be cool. Any fifth gens in the Atco neighborhood want to come on down and give Pat a try? It will be a few weeks before I go to DefCon 3.

I've run faster times than GT3's on a road course you should see there faces then. that guy was killing me in straights and id catch him in corners. When i lived in jersey i loved drag racing but now that I've found the 1LE and road courses I'll never drag again lol

Been a good read.. Seeing the progression of your car and your skills getting better as far as a launch.. Last night a friend and myself went and ran in Sac to test his new setup. A 1Le with a procharger he just put on.. He does not have it figured out still setting the tune and what not. He is not making any HP yet. But like you will have a Ton of power once he does. So, your thread reminded me of his car and last night getting started on making it run..

Thanks. I think the good air was the most benefit to my nice launch. I have not changed my launch much other a little more focus.

What's he running?

His best was a 13.2@ 108.. that is what it should do stock if not better.. I noticed his ITA'S were only 103* max.. I texted him to check his boost pressure since I thought he was not making any.. He just let me know it is only making 2 psi .. it all makes sense now..

Definitely something wrong there with a lower MPH than stock. It will be much faster once sorted. DRs are a must, the Goodyears are awful for drag racing. No traction and much wheel hop.

I have not heard what he found today as far as low pressure, but you are right on stock tires and what a set of DR's do.. Do you have any under hood shots of your car with the twin turbos? Edit found your build

Not much to see under the hood. I like it that way. The give aways are the huge air to air intercooler, the low flow tubes and the vacuum line snaking towards the back and a few other subtle details.
