Had this Mod for 4 years now. why is this any diff. from having hood vents??
Not to take this thread over but there are many threads that come up that say removing the rear seal is not effective, but vents properly placed are. In wind tunnel testing the vents are put in low pressure areas created at speed to draw heat out. The cowl area of most vehicles is a high pressure area thus forcing air in at high speed and pretty still at lower speeds allowing it to be drawn in by the ac system if set to open vent and not re-circ. OP I would search this before doing this mod as it is proven ineffective in ctsv's, mustang's, eclipses, and most sports vehicles with high pressure cowl areas.

This morning I hit 11.6 psi, then 5 minutes later only 10.5 psi, a 1 psi drop in the same weather and same drive. Only difference was that the second run ran rich, the LTFT's were high. I requested that Arno put a 5% limit on another tune.

I also made a quick program to read data from my plx sensors, soon I will be able to get a great datalog.

13.1 @ 109.9 mph so far, engine is screaming at the top of third, I may need to short shift it. I had to reset my LTFT's after the first run since it was running too rich.

Constantly trapping at 109, changing tunes to C10. The C7 tune starts misfiring from too much fuel after a while, best run is when the car was lean. I keep destroying a Challenger 392 though, almost by 1 second.

I managed to run 12 times, I'm car #704.

First run I had the tune on the car for several days and it was misfiring at the end of the run. I disconnected the battery for several minutes and ran again, immediate improvement. After 3 runs it was starting to run rich again so I loaded the V60C1C10 tune, car was good after that.

I never saw above 11 PSI boost, don't know why at the track I lose a full pound. Going to see about getting a 3.33" pulley now though.

Wow looks like a slow night at your track, there is only 10-15 minutes between your runs a few with only 5-7. It must be nice to get right back into the staging lane without having to wait 30-45 minutes!

Usually it is packed but since it had rained earlier not many people showed up. I had a lot of fun though beating up on V8's.

I e-mailed Andy the results from last night and told him the 3.48" pulley would be a good upgrade. I went from 13.341 @ 106.59 in 1000 DA to 13.108 @ 109.9 in 2000 DA. If they do the upgrade and put it on the dyno they can make some adjustments to help it run faster.

Finally some nice low 13 second runs! Those were all on the runs where your 60' was usually in the 2.0 to 2.1 range as well...although there is one or two low 13s on a 2.2+ 60'. If you can start to get consistent 2.0 60' times, I predict we will see a 12 second run in your future....even without another pulley upgrade.

I'd like to see you stay on this pulley and see what you can do as you get it completely dialed in and the temps drop later into the year, but I'm sure your wanting to move on lol.

Best of luck.

The MPH is great, I'm running about the same MPH on nitrous with 12.2 ETs, but my 60' is where my ETs are coming from 1.6x. Great results you are having get those 60' down and you are flying.!! I use a Ryobi rechargable fan from Home Depot between runs to cool off under the hood.

Very nice... A little better weather and you'll be into the 12s in no time!
