How in any realm of reality is comparing two cars on a legitimate measurable outcome pathetic? You are also being hypocritical by saying "oh but it wins in the 1/4 mile" but a "lap time around a track doesn't mean anything" That is seriously pathetic my friend. And I am a Mustang guy btw.

Also, please explain to me how Randy is biased? just a few years ago before the 1LE he was giving all his praise to the Mustang.

I'm not sure I really understand some of the gripes of the SS braking from some of the posters on here.

I think we can agree on this though.

-Can it use more trick air to help cool off the brakes? Yes it can.
-Is the DOT3 brake fluid acceptable for rigours of track duty? No it's not.
-Are the above easily correctable by the end user? Yes they are.

Does this heavy car stop from 60mph in WORLD CLASS two digits times? Yes it does .

Nuff' said.

Exactly.

Randy Pobst is a no BS race car driver. He knows what he is talking about and to call him 'biased" is simply showing how ignorant you are.

the 1Le was in his head.

i would of love of riding along Mr Pobst in the camaro.. what a thrill it would have been..

Randy P. was clearly impressed with the Boss 302 he drove just a few years ago. So IMO, he ain't biased before and not biased now. He's just being straightforward that the 1LE is more track worthy and more fun to drive than the new S550. Geesh effin unbelievable the excuses and ignorance. Even at the M6G forum, it's crazy at times... so much spinning excuses especially from the dude that needs to take a chill pill.

No, no, no! It's the tires, it gained weight, the driver is bias and a secret agent from GM and Ford is secretly making it worse so they can make it better later.

BwaaaaHaHaHa, they'd have really lost their minds if they had brought out a ZL1 let alone a Z/28.

Why fixed something that's not broken? Weighs less, produces more, efficient, reliable, cheaper and darn near indestructible. Over-complicating an already proven platform is a recipe for trouble. I like my cam swaps to remain in the $200 range and not in the $1000 range.

If you want DOHC technology from GM, get a V6.
+1. Gonif, I'm sorry to say that I don't think you know enough about engine tech. GM's V8s have the best HP to packaging weight ratio in the world. It is actually lighter than BMW 328's 2 liter engine, did you know that? Also, why do you think they install LS engines to those tiny first gen Miatas? Because it damn fits and is not heavy enough to get it imbalanced!

The driver ate at a buffet right before driving the 5.0 so he wasn't thinking straight. Isn't that the way it goes around here. Lol

All joking aside I really like the new Mustang, while I question the logic of what Ford has done here with the Performance Pack for the Mustang GT. I feel that the PP should be the regular Mustang GT and that they should have developed a track pack and gotten their hands on a 1LE Camaro for development. Their goal should have been to beat this car right here, at the same time the Zeta Camaro does have the advantage of being a platform in which GM has been tuning for some time now. While the new Mustang platform will probably take a model year or two to really get the tuning down to what people want.

At the same time I feel that the next Camaro has an edge in that the alpha platform has been out for some time. I don't think that they have to alter it as much as they did the Zeta for the Camaro so information from the ATS and CTS V cars can transfer to the Camaro.

In testing the 1LE against cars when it first came out all you heard about was how good the brakes were. I can't believe 2-3 years later people are complaining about them???

As stated previously, in the hands of a rookie/new driver such as myself the 1LE would kick ass vs. a new driver in the Mustang. Randy knows how to get throttle induced oversteer to bring back the pushing Mustang. Most drivers/new aren't that good. So you take 2 stock/showroom floor which is most HPDE drivers with those two cars and the 1LE blows by the Mustang. I include myself in that category. That guy goes out and tells all his friends how he passed Mustangs all day long. That is a GREAT car.

I for one am VERY happy I drive a 1LE. And, it just looks AWESOME.
