Although I'm sure that you've seen there can be serious power made with the OEM crank', but you'll have to go through the rods and the pistons, as you've implied. Regarding the other forged internals comment, perhaps you may have missed that a lot of the LSA will come with very durable components, including a forged crank. I can't be sure about the rods, but I know they aren't the titanium rods found in the LS9 or LS7. The pistons, too, will be cast, however, I think if we are lucky enough to get the foundation of the LSA, we'll be looking pretty good.

However, I've said it in many other posts, that I agree with you about supercharging from the factory. I like the idea that you Cobra and GT500 owers have just been able to swap and exhaust, pulley, CAI, and tune and get like an easy 500-600 horsepower, and not melt the motor down. I hope we can do that because where I am, smog laws suck, and law enforcement looks for any reason to pull you over to peek under the hood, whether or not you were engaged in any questionable activity. Regardless, the less conspicuous I can be, and still get great power and reliability, the happier I'll be.

Come on GM
Just wanted to thank radz28, and thanks 2 tagurit, I appreciate the info, and couldn't agree with you more.
I'm hoping that with alot of folks voicing their opinions here, and maybe some insiders can help us in our quest to make a "supercar camaro" a reality.. It's long over due IMO, and GM has really missed the boat as Ford has dominated the car class, and generated huge revenue with the mustang. Sorry to say. GM lost alot of revenue and now sales of dropped for GM by 24% last quarter or so.
So having said that keep the good stuff coming! Thanks again for the info.. Just am really hoping that I'm not going to have to dig into the internals ie' swap pistons, and rods in order to bolt on some nice hp gains.. The new Camaro has the look, class, and suspension.. Now lets seal the deal with the power to go with it!

what part of ctsv do you not see?

and this is on about 4 or 5 forums (from me)

I did not ask the z28 question..someone else incorporated it into a multi part question of their own.

Like I said..."I'm just sharing"

I know what he said and he said it with conviction.
That quote was in direct response to you saying the supercharged or Z28 Camaro is dead. He's using the CTSV as an example to suggest that you are "Dead Wrong". His words not mine.

And as of now you are a completely full of . Someone else asked him about the Z28?

I thought no-one else pumped him on the camaro but you?

At least that's what you say in this post....

GM would rather not produce it. or risk it.
It seems like we slapped them around on the GTO name thing (and other things I'm sure).... and THEY are still flinching. twitching...stinging

Now THAT is JMO. (derived from watching him and listening)
This would be version number four of your interpretation of his statements.

As well as Cheryl emailing the writer to clarify her statements, which were later published as a correction.

Regarding the GTO, it was really nothing like the GTOs of the past. There were hardly styling cues I could easily recognize and distinguish as GTO-styles from the past. IMHO, it was these factors in addition to dealers completely raping (I do not mean to deminish the actual meaning of this phrase) buyers by adding mark-ups. It's no wonder they weren't more popular! I don't think that is a fair comparison...
Not wink wink...but "ouch this subject matter pains me"
I think his shoulders raised and he actually cringed...maybe he had gas and I misinterpreted the whole thing.(not)

same subject different note:

My wife could not care less about cars...but she was there and she and I have not discussed the meeting because...well...the GTO is enough of a time consuming thing in her mind without bringing other cars into the situation.
But last night while clacking away at you...I asked her..."do you remember when at the meeting Ed said there would be no production supercharged camaro?"

"Yes" she replies.... (me) "well look at these guys, they act like I'm trying to kill their GOD or something"

So she reads through your posts and chuckles...agreeing that you are way high strung about it. (Fanatical?) (like I am about MY GTO)(so I don't blame you a bit for keeping the faith)

If you are excited about "inconsistencies" in my story....they are there just because I DON"T CARE ENOUGH TO BE CAREFUL.

and the punctuation of the e-mails? I cut and pasted them out of my mail box...(so that's all GM baby)
considered correcting the spelling and such...BUT I DON'T CARE ENOUGH.

She thinks you guys are funny with your commitment to the idea of a supercharged camaro.....
Hats off to you though. I look forward to meeting up with you guys at car shows, meets, around town, and the TRACK!

Passion is a GOOD thing to have.

Keep it safe and for Gods sake.....HAVE FUN!

as far as I'm concerned a "Holden is a Holden" and you guys are welcome at SeaSideGoats GTG anytime.

So will he warranty? Will he have pully size options? Will he have tunes readily available for uploading/emailing onto a handheld tuner? What kind of tuner does he use? SCT, Diablo..? ie: 91oct, 92 oct, 93oct, 100oct, C116 octane, Race tunes? So if folks decide to go with his set up the can make the necesarry adjustments.. What will be the his optimum A/F?? Will there be larger throttle bodies? Monoblade? Give us some details please..

much yet to be determined...the G8 has just gotten sorted out...so....

it's a wait and see kinda thing right now.

Seems like a viable alternative if no Z comes out. I strongly think we should all wait until at least December before continuing the convo though. By then pricing should be out and I'm sure there will be more rumors or maybe even an official agreement from the big 3 that talk to the general public (scott, ed, cheryl). So far, scott and Cheryl say there won't be a Z28 at launch but it's not dead, so there's a chance. Ed says never. It might be a case of left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. Let's be optimistic on both sides of opinions, k?
