would a 2017 zl1 diff (with manual trans) fit in the 2011 ss manual?

on the half shafts for the zl1, I would need the zl1 shafts to fit in the diff. The ends of the shafts for the wheel are the same?

driveshaft question - do I use the zl1 shaft and that will fit into the SS m6 trans?

Just a couple of my questions.

Not easily. The rear mounting point is totally different, plus the Gen6 platform is narrower, so the axles are probably too short as well. The CV shaft end going into the hub should be the same, but who knows on the side going into the diff. It would be a genuine science project that would require a lot of research on your part as well as some good fabrication skills.

Has anyone gone from the SS to ZL1 while having the DSS 1-piece? I called them and they couldn’t tell me if just a new flange was needed or a whole new one unless I had a flange to flange measurement.

I was told the ZL1 shaft was actually a different length than the SS.

The only difference in the transmission flange is that the holes are bigger to accommodate the larger bolts on the ZL1. Similarly, the drive shaft flanges on the ZL1 shaft have larger holes to accommodate the bolts but I am not sure if they are thicker to accommodate a different length.

Diff Cooler Plugs

Differential cooler plugs (GM part# 22960153) Qty 2 (this plugs off the cooler lines on the bottom of the differential).

Anyone know what to use now to plug the ZL1 diff? The GM cooler plugs are no longer made and GM does not have a alternative. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

I’m looking for the same thing and not having much luck. Might be able to take the fittings out of the diff and take to a hydraulic shop and they can maybe match up the threads to some kind of plug?

I’m about to start this upgrade. Has anyone found replacements for the cooler plugs and axle seals now they’re discontinued?

Plug: 11611234
Seal: 20964013
