You have to look at it at the whole package deal, GM may only make a couple grand on a camaro, but make much more on say a silverado. They have a full line of cars to get into every market but they DONT mark up every model the same.

Thats why they (and all companies) can knock so much off the price of pick-ups or certain small passenger cars, but barely budge on a sports car.

Its also because its harder to go somewhere else and get a camaro-like car so they know theyve got you if you are interested in a camaro, there arent too many options, but if you were buying a malibu, they know u could go get a camry, accord, etc etc
