I just left a message for Vince at his office as I want to order this but have a few questions and want to make sure I understand what has been said on this thread

-the tuner will increase HP and torque by XXXX
-The tuner will increase throttle response
-The tuner has the ability to over ride certain paramters set by GM. ( example I have the LS model with 18' wheels, I cannot go over 118mph but the tuner can over ride that??)
-I can revert back to my stock tune whenever I need to go back to the dealer for warrenty work

The tuner will be calibrated by Vince in advance based on the current modifications I have. I am assuming any new modifications will require a new tune from Vince, correct??

How do you hook this up, does it attach to the OBDI area or some place else. Is it some sort of handheld device. Sorry if I sound like a newbie, just trying to learn.

Thanks

Ok... couple of odds and ends...

Are you upgrading your tires to support removing the speed limiter? The speed limiter is there due to the fact the LS tires have a lower speed rating...

If you plan on going back to stock for service and stuff, you will want to go ahead and buy the EZ Flash cable. This lets you store your stock tune on your laptop. And yes, it connects to your car via the ODB-II port. The EZ Flash cable is a USB device that comes with the proper USB cable, "black box" and an ODB-II cable...

As for HP and Torque gains... I wouldn't worry about an absolute X amount gain... There are other things that get tweaked besides the PEAK HP/TQ. I would rather have a smaller gain across the entire power band (RPM range) than a big gain only at peak (very small RPM range).

And if you have an automatic, there are some tweaks that should/could really wake the car up! Tuning the auto tranny is just as important (if not more important) than tuning the engine!

scrming thanks I figured you would know

yes I do intend to change the tires, I have a manual tranny and an air raid CAI, I intend to put headers as well, just not sure when. Iwsn;t worried about absolute numbers just did the xx to be general. So i guess as I upgrade each time, ie tires, headers exhaust I will need to reach out Vince to get the next calibratrion done correct??

Yep, my understanding is Vince could make changes to your tune as necessary.... Headers really shouldn't require a tune change, unless you want the rear O2 sensors turned off (assuming Vince can do that... ) I don't know how much Vince charges for tune tweaks.. but I will say had have been very quick to reply to all my questions, so I give him a big for that!

As for gains... since you have an Airaid already, I would thing you should see very similar benefits as the test car Vince used...
