That looks sweet, wouldn't the air get funneled straight out into the hood vent or is that how it's supposed to be?

Sorry I missed the last few updates on your build. The 4teen hood looks amazing...and big shout out to your wife for making the cuts!!

Congrats on the new house

And that's awesome that you were able to find an ACS Big Mouth kit. It's a shame that ACS isn't able to make more of their 5th Gen parts since they already have the molds. But having a functional mail slot with the hood vents will help pushing all the hot air out from under the hood.

Installed one of my ground harnesses from the bellhousing to the frame. Car started up instantly. I don't recall having a hot starting issue, but the car has never cold cranked up so fast. I have 9 available now.

First day or progress on the supercharger install. Got the bumper pulled off, cold air intake and jre intake scoop parts off. Then I drilled out the positive battery post, painted the spot welds, and the bracket. Went to pull the power steering pulley off but the junk advance auto parts puller actually broke the lip of the pulley so I had to order a real puller. Got the harmonic balancer off, and started assembling rhe ATI balancer. Looks like I may have to replace my front timing cover gasket... ordered a bunch of parts including parts for a fuel rail flip, heater hose relocation, balancer installer, etc... starting to come along. Slowly but surely I will get it done.

More progress...

Got my power steering pulley puller in the mail, so I made a bunch of progress on the install. Got as far as installing the head unit bracket. Just need to install the harmonic balancer, and drill the crank pins. Gonna swap out the spark plugs for some NGK TR6 plugs, then it's on to fuel and intercooler stuff.

Sounds alone will probably be worth it, also curious why you went with a centrifugal supercharger, I kinda like them but don't seem to see them on these cars very often.

Honestly I went with the Torqstorm for numerous reasons. 1. Lifetime warranty on the head unit. 2. Cost, most cost effective boost for the money. All the other superchargers start at the price of this complete setup, and that includes the intercooler setup. 3. I want it to sound like its supercharged. Outside of a Whipple or a Magnuson, the other blowers don't sound quite the same as a centrifugal.

Now that I am knee deep in the install, I wish I would have just gone LSA. The Torqstorm will only make roughly 600 rhwp, and thats with a proper cam. As is it will make around 530rwhp according to my tuner. Which is a bit disappointing. Maximum effort I have seen people push 800rwhp, but they are on e85, big injectors, big fuel system, etc... Also, this thing has been a pain in the ass to install so far. Weekend warrior my ass. Lots of specialty tools and the instructions are basically useless. Don't properly explain half of the steps involved. Hopefully the Jet noises outweigh the issues I have been facing. Excited to get the blower on though, I wanna test fire it just to hear it spinning.

Fair enough, the noises are like 70% of the performance, also I consider the 500 rwhp (plus or minus a bit) to be a nice sweet spot on these cars, before you start having to worry about tires and other things to put the power down effectively, I am still in research phase but hoping to get high 400s rwhp with a cam and few supporting mods down the line since car probably won't see much track in its life (local ones either want 6 weeks of your life for their courses before they let you in or minimum about $500 for a single track day). I wager it will be worth it in the end.

With the LS3 and M6 you can get to around 480rwhp on pump gas with just headers, exhaust, CAI and a quality cam and valvetrain upgrade. Dyno tune and then done. I would highly recommend going to a track day if you can... give it another 1o years or so and racetracks might be extinct.... Enjoy it while you can. Lots of tracks closing down every year due to regulations and noise ordinances, etc... PBIR in south Florida just closed down, Cleetus's oval track and the Bradenton speedway are in danger of closing due to a potential residential construction... Racecars and its enthusiasts are a dying breed.

That sucks to hear, I know of two small local oval tracks, one is a dirt tracks and other is paved but as far as I'm aware they don't host open events, have a proper racetrack maybe 30 minutes drive (ridge motorsport park) and when they aren't hosting events a handful of clubs hold track days there, but again $500 or so minimum, not counting, tires, oil, brake pads and other consumables, too far out of the budget range, even local autocross is a little weird, someday I'll have to bite the bullet on it, for now curvy mountain roads "at speed limit" are best I can afford.

Intercooler mocked up and supercharger mounted. Just waiting on a few odds and ends like a new power steering pulley, a harmonic balancer installer, and some new radiator hoses, then we will be good to go.

When I was half way through my install of the twin turbos I was thinking how much easier it would be of I did a procharger lol.

Looks like you're making good progress.
