Yes and I`m sure they checked that "closed course" for road debris before that hi-speed pass, by the way did all you speed jockeys check your tires before that romp down the road? Here`s a little something you might want to check out before that next Banzai run; http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4826897

101mph on a stretch of flat, straight, empty interstate in the middle of Nebraska. Felt pretty good! This spring I'm hoping to take her to a real track and really cut her loose.

"I didn't do it, my wife did." Christmas day after work, interstate was barren, errr, ummm, closed. 154mph according to the speedo and "her".

Yep, that's what happened.

Most I've ever done in the Camaro is 141, most I've ever done in any car is 182 in a Vette.

Save your breath and time coolman, besides it`s a great way to have that family get-together after the funeral.

Yes, everything was perfect. I wouldn't even think of doing 186 if everything wasn't first checked on the car to make sure it was safe. If you've ever been to northern New mexico on I-25, you can see for more than 10 miles and the highway is straight as an arrow, and not a car or animal in sight.

Mickss, I see you have a chevelle station wagon. I had a '65 Chevelle Malibu station wagon when I was in high school in the '70s. It had a 327 w/double bump heads and a powerglide 2 speed tranny. It would do 100 mph in the 1/4, and was just shifting to 2nd when crossing the line. Couldn't spin a tire if you tried, too high geared. What a party car, would haul alot of people and a keg of beer with ease. Everytime I watch "That 70's Show" it reminds me of that car!

Even a great imagination can't beat that; you are the king of the Speed Bragging Rights! ...although I think I got close to that when I saw my first alligator in a Louisiana swamp one night...:(

I went a couple of ticks over 700 mph (GROUND SPEED) in a commercial airliner headed to Egypt... We were over the North Atlantic at about 38,000 feet and had close to a 200 MPH tail wind.... We was smok'in... Made it from Detriot to London Heathrow in a little over 6.5 hours...

Had another run out in the Everglades a few weeks ago, the wind sucked for high speed driving so I only hit 158 this time (in the standing mile) compared to 164mph previous times. I bumped up the rev limiter to 7200 now so I hope to get another few mph out of 4th.

Top speed so far is a tick over 180mph in the Camaro.

Fastest I have ever driven though is 212mph in a 640whp Lamborghini Diablo VT. That was actually on the A7 over in Germany. 6am, zero traffic, wild animal fencing and absolutely legal
