You and others your age are the future for GM. Most high school graduates in the past here in America dreamed of buying an American muscle car like the famed Trans Am in Smokey and the Bandit and later on with the Knight Rider or the Bullit Mustang Steve Mqueen drove in Bullit. Nowadays too many kids have moved away from dreaming of American cars because there is so much more to choose from. Movie's like Fast and the Furious don't help.. It is more common for kids to want a Japanese tuner nowadays than American muscle. So you are the target audience at this point and with the inclusion of the Camaro in Transformers has made it popular and recognizable amongst teens and young adults alike. Let's hope there are more kids like you out there that can help GM in the short term by getting a Camaro, and then lets hope there are those dreamers that will get one down the road when they are older and are able to afford one keeping the Camaro alive.

Congrats, my first new car was '95 Z28, Medium Quasar Blue...all my parents did was cosign. Check the rates with your insurance company. I was 18 and my insurance was just as much as my car payment.

After reading this thread I wasn't going to comment but decided to. My advice ljustin, stay at home as long as you can! lol. Hey my dad helped me out when I was younger. He couldn't afford college so I had to pay for it, but he helped me do a large paper route for about 10 years. He even helped a lot when I was in high school. I paid for college with the paper route money. When I graduated, I lived at home for a while, my parents were great. I bought a Z28 in 99 and eventually switched jobs where I traveled a lot. I then bought my current car a VW passat. I had 2 brand new cars while living at home. What were my parents thinking?

The fact is, if you appreciate where you are in life and what your parents are doing for you great. It doesn't matter how you got the job, it doesn't matter what your parents pay for, be responsible and thankful. Fathers day and Mothers day should be big at your house (not monitarily - give them a card that tells them how you feel). The reason people get negative is because they are mad because THEY didn't or don't have this opportunity. They think its only fair if they have the opportunity and you don't. Don't get too bothered by it, you seem pretty confident in your self. I say CONGRATULATIONS! Dude your gettin' a Camaro!

Wow this is great. I'm in the same situation as you Justin. A 21 year old, full-time student, with two jobs, in hope of being able to buy this great call. This is encouraging stuff.

As far as what my parents are paying I am going to keep private, but the car payment will be all mine. I am going to put as much of a down payment on it as I can, that way I can get the monthly payments as low as possible. I was saving to do a lot to my truck, but then I decided to get this car..so I was already being smart and saving money before I knew I was going to get the car. I know its hard to believe and I'm sure there are some of you that don't believe that I'm paying for it, etc. People can't be so stereotypical...some "kids" are very responsible and it is the others kids that bring us down.
Glad to hear you got the truck, Camaros melt in the rain Goodluck with your camaro.

Well, you could figure out how to get into the SEMA show in November. With the Camaro being the official vehicle of the show, I'd guess there will be more than just one there for people to see.
