Figure I'll wait till spring to try and get a Camaro and then have all summer to find a set of 18 or 19" rims with good all-season tires. |

so everyone needs to put their two cents in, but I can tell you I spend 2-4 hours a day commuting and have done so for alot longer then youve been alive. I grew up on rear wheel drive cars but heavyier ones although they had powerful V8 engines. I can guarantee you this, if your 16, you will be crying by the end of winter if you start driving in the snow with this car, you will have an incident, their is no question in my mind about that. Its just a matter of how bad an incident you will have, but you will damage something. Its kind of like riding a motorcycle, sooner or later, you will lay it down on the pavement, its just a matter of at what speed or under what conditions, it always happens. This is no car to learn how to drive on in the winter. You may be a safe driver, but nowadays its not that factor that controls an accident, its your ability to steer around and avoid an accident, your ability to sense whats going on in front of you and start your escape route before things happen. You cant be expected to have that experience yet and wont for many years and you are hampering your reaction time with a car that will never react like a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Its a great car but its a great sportscar. Now if you can find a piece of ____ to drive for the winter months and promise yourself to leave the camaro in the garage until ALLTHE SALT is officailly off the streets, then go for it and buy the thing, but stick to your promise so you will have a happy summer with an unblemished sportscar that everyone will envy.

Has anyone already DRIVEN their new Camaro in the snow yet?
I've seen plenty of posts/polls discussing whether people intend to drive their cars throughout the winter. (Mine is a DD, so I will be one of them!!) Just curious .... does anyone have any actual experience with the snow yet? What are the early reads??

I've driven mine in light snow. No problems but I did get snow tires. Maybe an inch on the ground.

I have snow tires too--would never have considered keeping the summer tires on thru the winter! Even so, this will be my first rear-wheel drive vehicle so I'm sure it will take some "adjusting", to put it mildly!

Yes, did a total of 40 miles over the mountains in Montana near Idaho right after picking my Camaro up in Kellogg. I went slow(no higher than 45mph). The only time the TC came on was during a 4 to 3 downshift as the rear locked a little to fast. I was actually impressed with the amout of snow grip on the stock tires.
Also did another 30 miles on pretty much solid ice roads just east of Salt Lake City, UT. Same thing, never had a problem. Mav
