ReallY??? The side view of the TL is boring and virtually indistinguishable from a dozen other curved roof 4-door sedans, and the front end looks like a smiling face car that should be talking to Thomas the Train Engine in a cartoon. (Look again at any picture of the front of the TL and try to tell me it isn't smiling.)
And shame on every single poster in this thread who named a BMW or Lexus or Mercedes Benz or any other foreign car. No wonder American car manufacturers are currently in so much trouble. You sound like all the writers in the automobile magazines, who fall all over themselves heaping praise on anything from Germany or Japan. Decades of their criticism of the cars made by American manufacturers is almost impossible to overcome, even with great products like the 2010 Camaro. And in response to the original thread: if I can't get a Camaro then I won't buy anything at all. I don't need a car (I currently own 4 cars - not counting my wife's), but I want a 2SS/RS Camaro sometime in the next couple years. Because I truly believe the current musclecar era is almost over and I want to grab one more while they're still making them. |

Thats what I was thinking. It would only take 10hp to over come the 100lb difference, and with a 55hp edge to the SRT8, the precise shifting of an auto compared to the human element of a manual, sounds like a kill to me.

G8 (I got it, didn't wait for the G8 GXP (low MPG+extra cost+Gas Guzzler Tax too much)
I really needed to have passenger capacity of 5 (4 kids). I wish GM had done with the Camaro like Chrylser did with the Challenger...that middle back seat isn't gonna win any comfort, but a kid could sit there for a drive to the store/grandma's house.

the dyno shows crank hp at closer to 395 than 375....so it is only a 30hp difference... the rt has LSD so no tire spin...srt8 chargers are known for tire spin due to no LSD. the rt has way better gearing at 392 compared to the srt8 which has a crappy 306. rt has 6 speeds...srt has 5 it is alot closer than you guys know.... trustttttttt me.

What is your second choice
Just wondering, should the Camaro not make it off the production line what will be your second choice of auto.On a personal note, mine would most likely be an SRT8,cos i just have to have a Muscle car before society deems Large engined, gas guzzlers too socially unacceptable to make.Unfortuneately in Europe, the Wolf is already at the door.
Regards to all on Camaro5 (what a great site)

Hello!
|
G8 GT or the GXP would be my first choice...if I could get a Z06, low, low miles and still get it around $40K or so, I might go that route!
But...the Camaro is coming... |
