The City of Victoria will have a resolution before the Union of BC Municipalities convention in Vancouver next month dealing with lowering speed limits on municipal streets.

Speed is one of the leading causes of death on BC roads, and groups that support this move to lower the speed limit say this will drastically cut the number of deaths every year.

"The average age of our populations is increasing and as we get older and we don't react as quickly. Also we have to admit that the police won't pick you up for speeding if you are a reasonable amount over the speed limit. Of course the population continues pushing the limits."

Currently, if not otherwise posted, the speed limit inside a municipality is 50 kilometers an hour and outside it is 80 kilometers an hour.

you are comparing apples and 'oranges'. speed limit north of Parksville is a posted 110kms per hour.
Not sure what point you are trying to make

very true, lights are good, there may be a speed limit posted, but, it
sure feels great to get there first.....

Everyone got there cars in hibernation already? I'm flying home at 2 today and get the car running and out for a cruise tonight if anyone else is interested in joining. I'm heading to 5252 Friday morning for a dyno run and western speedway for autox Sunday. Then be just cruising Monday-Tuesday then it's parked for good Tuesday as I leave for work Wednesday. Here is one suggestion,
This event is always good...maybe tie a Camaro cruise up to Qualicum on the Sunday (Father's Day) and take in one of the best car shows on Vancouver Island :-)

Every year Seaside Cruizers Car Club hosts a weekend of events in Parksville & Qualicum culminating with the Father's Day Show 'n Shine in the town of Qualicum Beach. During the Show 'n Shine the whole town is wired for sound and music from the 50's and 60's.

Any Suggestions?????
