For those of you who have had their TR6060 rebuilt from the dealership, please check to see if this part # is listed on your repair order.

19178669 through 19178676 and all the # in between. These are TR6060 specific input shaft shims. If these weren't charged out, that means the main shaft play wasn't checked and COULD effect how the tranmission will perform. Please check and post here.

I will say this is not the smoothest shifting manual I have ever driven. You need to learn its ways. It does not like to power shift and clutch timing is very critical. You can't be easy with the shifter either. I installed the Hurst and it really made no difference other than the shorter throw.

Mine was rebuilt this week and is still grinding. The shims are not on my invoice.

At the end of the day are we all doomed with bad tranny's? What is the shelf life of the transmission in it's current state? Will anyone see 100,000 miles without a these issues? I can't see the sense in keeping a car that i know could go at any time, i mean really what's the upside?

Is this issue restricted to a select VIN group or is it all Camaro's? Sorry to toss out all these questions, but damn there must be hope for some of us. Sorry for those going through this BS

Based on what I've experienced, it's the other way around - I think it needs to stay cooler than it is.

I have read the entire thread and had I known then what I know now... I think I would have postponed purchase yet another year! Wife asked me last night when I was showing her the shift issue, if we bought a lemon? No it is an Orange! And it will be fixed. The MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION... Will they fix this issue in time for the release of the HP or Z28 (or whatever they call it). They better get these bugs out ASAP or with the added ponies there will be shredded transmissions everywhere! If it isn't right on the SS it won't be right on the Z! I sure hope FBodfather and friends are reading this thread and these complaints. I already talked to GM Engineering on a Q.I. follow up the other night and I informed them under no uncertain terms about the transmission issues I am experiencing.

OK, I had a chance to cross check GM part numbers for the gears/synchro/blocking rings with Corvette's part numbers and they ARE the same. The Vette owners do complain about slight grind when cold but NEVER grind under high RPM shifts.

I'm begining to think this is NOT a transmission issue but clutch/hydraulic issue..........:(

Does anybody have an aftermarket clutch master? I know Tick makes one for Vettes/4th gen Camaros. That master has a bigger bore and move more "volume" of fluid.

I'll keep at it until this issue is resolved.

I called Tick to see if they had a clutch master/slave cylinder setup but unfortunately they don't have a setup for the 2010+ Camaro's. I'm wondering if any of the guys with the Lingenfelter ZR1 clutch setup because that kit swaps out the stock slave cylinder to the ZR1 slave cylinder.

I'm thinking it's gonna be a clutch issue also. We already know how crappy our clutches are thanks to all the guys that have had their clutches stick to the floor and all the floating debris in the fluid !!

I think the clutch is good for the camaro I think its the crappy design of the hydraulic system. I never thought a new car I would worry about changing out the fluid very often to keep it clean.

Just got informed from my dealer that it was gonna take 2 months to get the special tool to fix my transmission!, after a little discussing of the payments i was making and going to ask for compensation, she called the GM rep. and they said just replace the thing!!!! dont screw around with trying To fix it!!!
I'm happier now!!!
I just made a little noise, and reminded them that i have bought 3 new vehicles from them, and they made the right choice.

Please post your results after the trans swap. If you still have grinding issues then, I would say it has to be clutch/hydraulic issue.
