What naturally aspirated engine can make 560+ hp reliably at the track and still give you over 100,000 miles on the motor? No brainer that they went supercharged on this car, there is literally no other option. Keep in mind it has to slay cars such as the new Ferrari/Porsche cars with close to 600hp.

This Z06 is amazing looking but I would still prefer a C6 one, anything over 500hp in a light car like this becomes a very dangerous vehicle that demands tremendous respect. The europeans do it with small motors that have very low torque, this thing is a torque monster!!! If you ever drove a ZR1 you will understand what I mean. First time I drove it I knew this is a car that is over my boundary, similar to when I tore up my bike driver license after I bought a Suzuki GSXR 1000 crotch rocket and took it for a spin.

Very cool car though, I hope this look trickles down into a Grand Sport C7 like it did on the C6's.

If they didn't throw on a supercharger, the added weight wouldn't have been much more than the Stingray. Add DI and a compression bump to the LS7 and I bet you get a solid HP gain.

I predict that the C7 Z06 will weigh LESS than a Z51 giving it at least an 800 pound advantage over the ZL1.

First off the steel torque tube was a big mass hit to the C7. The CF tube should offset a bunch of the super charger.

Second, and I don't think we fully know, if the C7 Z06 also has a fixed roof that will allow them to remove more of the aluminum frame that is in the Z51.

Like the C6 Z06 there is a huge hit for just bigger wheels and tires and brakes.

So my prediction for the C7 Z06 is at least parity with the Z51. My hope would be a 50 pound reduction over a Z51.

Worst case is this is the ZR1 mass which was higher due to premium equipment.

Now how all that power and torque is managed and put to the road is another story.

Z is such a great letter.
