wasnt Firebird set up the same way?

there's multiple ways to lay out an auto-x or roadcourse

but we'd have to be going to Lucas in the first place to even bother trying to figure that out.

AutoX can be set up in a parking lot, yes. But the road course options at Lucas look limited to one route and there's no way to avoid the drag strip. Study that map and tell me I'm wrong.

Seriously, I really don't mind at all if you prove me wrong because that track actually looks pretty sweet. Not to mention the road trip convoy from Texas to Indiana would be a blast

When I was asked as a vendor how to improve C5FEST III we had some clear opinions and suggestions.

Vendors should be integrated into the guest parking. Make the vendor part of the social event a opposed to isolated on vendors row.

We need to make watching the autocross easier. We need tents and chairs in safe places around the course. We need a drivers rest area under a canopy. Pedders will work closely with the C5 Staff to provide an excellent autocross course, with canopies and seats to encourage spectators and camaraderie.

Camaro5FEST is a social weekend with cars. That makes it very different from most car weekend where the cars are the stars. C5FEST makes the owners the stars. The best parts of the last fest were hanging out at the host hotel. Because of the locations of events, displays and parking we lost a great deal of that during the day. My goal for C5FEST III is to help create the host hotel atmosphere all day long at event central.

That may mean less time to do certain things. Maybe there is only a half day track session. Maybe the strip runs different hours in the afternoon and evening. Maybe we do a track side BBQ one night. I hope you see where I am suggesting we go. We organise the events around the people and fit in the necessary car stuff.

Any suggestions you have that would enhance the social aspects of C5FEST III are worth talking about.

I like the idea of vendors being spread out around parking and such. Makes for nice walk around. They do this at loudon nh for race weekends.

I also rented a v6 Camaro for the first C5Fest in Valdosta, had a great time auto crossing with MTI and also running and watching the cars go down the 1320 and sharing a quick lunch along with the Fbodfather himself.
