Don't go to Gino's, go to Lou Malnati's. Only tourists eat Gino's.

I'll post my .02, if nobody minds the new guy chiming in. I also own a Saturn Sky, and we have had these same discussions since the Kappa platform cars (Sky, Solstice & Opel GT) appeared. In 3 years they only built just over 100,000 of the cars . We have held a national meet every year, Nashville, Las Vegas, Denver, Canton and next year in Austin. No matter where you go you will always have diehards that come from the other coast. You have to make plans based on the number of people that are truly planning on being there, and the venue.
This is a huge community. In the Kappa community we have regional meets and local meets also. We have found that having these ease the pain of not being able to attend the nationals. I can't imagine putting together a national meet for this many cars anywhere. The traffic would be horrendous and finding a place that has the amenities and the open spaces needed for this size would be complicated. Soon, with as many Gen5's that they are producing, the logistics will become untenable for any venue. I'm not sure what the answer is, however, in the Kappa community we always start planning for the next national as soon as that year's is over. In fact, we have a banquet on the last night and try to announce the next year's venue at that time. To truly do this correctly takes a year to get it right.

There are a lot of reasons they have not announced the date and location, not the least of which is trying to balance the location for the Camaro 5 community. I can see the beads of perspiration building as each day goes by for everyone that has to plan and execute the event. No one and I mean no one wants this put to bed faster that the planners. Hang in there. It won't be too much longer.

Location is the hardest part to pin down. Dates come with location.
And after that everything should fall right into place. |

We are small fish in a big pond at some facilities and they can't gaurantee their facilities to us if they could make three times the money to another group or event. AND at the same time, we have the same dilemma too. We don't want to commit to a facility that is far down our list and take the chance that a venue higher on our list pops back up. And there are other factors as well. It's not easy to do this, especially in only the second year. Too many unknowns. I suspect we will have about as much notice as we did last year. We started talking about it unofficialy right about now, and it became official as far as venue and such in September I believe. Simply put, larger facilities, in more popular areas are harder for events our size to put together. Unless you do it in winter. lmao |

Sorry to be jumping on this so late, but if it IS east coast again, any plans on having another giant meet out here on the west coast? Maybe this time having it at California Speedway with the 1/4 mile, the Roval with NASCAR 1 and 2, and a huge show area plus a great PCH cruise?

I'm sure there will be at least one large event on the west coast, C5FII or not.
