Yea luckily (while knocking on wood) I have never had an issue with any of my Xboxes now. I have had 2 360s and now the One.

I use mine almost every single day as my living room cable box is routed through it. Has never made a noticeable noise. After dealing with a couple 360s with RRoD (though I had them repaired free), this has been going great so far.

No issues yet on my end. Picked up Powerstar Golf game as a demo then bought it. Best 20 bucks spent so far.

Kinect Issue

I can't find anything really related on the web, so I figured I'd ask my C5 family if they have seen this issue.

The problem is that my Kinect unit will suddenly decide to cycle itself on and off at random times, and sometimes it even cycles at a steady intervals. Other times, it just turns itself off. When any of these behaviors begin, I can perform a hard reset (long-press the XB1 icon on the console until it powers down), unplug the power supply, then unplug the Kinect unit. After following the procedure, the Kinect works correctly for a week or so, then repeats the bad behavior.

To be clear, it is only the Kinect unit itself that cycles. When it shuts off (as indicated by the power lights on the Kinect unit), voice commands do not work, and any text prompts that were already on screen while using Kinect before the malfunction disappear at the same time.

It has the feel of a software issue, but I can't prove it. I do not get any messages stating that the unit is unplugged, and that is where my issue seems very different than those others have reported on the internet.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Strych9 the only time I encountered issues with my Kinect was after the 2nd update Microsoft rolled out the Xbox One back in January or February. Since more system updates have been released I haven't had any issues with my Kinect.

That said, is your Xbox One and Kinect up to date with the latest updates?

Thanks for the input.

Yes, my system is fully up-to-date, and receives new updates when they are released. It's the strangest thing, ever. Last night, shortly after powering on, Kinect powered itself off for 5-10 seconds, came back up and was fine the rest of the night. It's so random. I may just have to RMA the Kinect unit to start. I just don't get it.

Yeah it sounds like a hardware issue if the software is up to date. Have you also checked the connection between the Xbox One and Kinect to make sure it has a good connection?

Took a lot of googleing for me to figure that one out, it was very annoying.
