You would have to see where you trap in a full quarter mile. I set mine up to not go into an overdrive gear at WOT, so 4th tops about 125.

This Friday looks like rain is in the forecast, but next Friday looks good. Going to try to go to the track that day, see if I can improve my launch.

I should be out there too. I wanted to go this Friday but you're right, looks like thunderstorms. I'm chomping at the bits to get out there, haven't been in a year!

The 6-rib just can't handle the torque required to turn the AC compressor and the supercharger in high heat, hopefully at the track it is cool enough that it can turn the supercharger while free-wheeling the AC. I looked at bypassing the AC but the belt would still be hitting it after it comes off the power steering pulley. I tried to put a gates belt on it and I couldn't get it on, would not stretch at all over the alternator.
Finding an 8-rib setup would be best, but no clue where I can get the 8-rib AC compressor pulley that has the clutch with it. I know the 2009 LLT's had a dual belt setup, the AC and power steering one belt, the alternator and water pump on the other. Going to be a long winter deciding what to do. When I took the goodyear belt off, this is how much dust came off. |

It would depend on what plane the AC and Power steering pulleys are on. If it is closer than what the LLT on the Camaro has, it might work. Would have to compare the mounting brackets for the AC and PS pumps, see if they are a different part number.

The weather for next Friday is clearing up but the temp will be 90 degrees, I know my belt will be slipping then. On the 30th though, the high will be 75, so cold dense air will be there to make more power.
Have to see how next week plays out, haven't driven my Camaro all week so I've missed some tuning weather. |

Might have found the limits of the stock internals, some interesting noises coming from the engine now. I'm hoping it is just the power steering pump since it also makes noise when I turn hard right.
Belt is slipping in this high heat weather, might not be worth it to go to the track this Friday in the Camaro, next Friday might be better for me. May take the 5.0 instead, see if my tuning helped it and get a feel for the track prep. |

Decided to put my 3.33" pulley back on, the belt slip and transmission not shifting right is not worth it. Right now I can't enjoy driving my car because of those issues, so going back to the pulley I went 11.8 in and seeing if I can get an 11.5 run out of it will be better. Maybe over the winter time I can upgrade the impeller to the 928 one and that will make it act like a 2.9" pulley but with more belt wrap.

The 3.125" didn't show slip too badly, this 2.95" is real bad though, sometimes it won't go over 13 PSI and loses pressure as the RPM's increase. I never used the 3.125" pulley in high heat though, that is were the belt is really slipping. On my first pull I can get full boost, after that, nothing. Going to try one more thing, shifting at 6700 RPM instead of 7000, the belt doesn't start slipping till 6600. If it can hold off till then, that is 2 more PSI than my best run, but will have to see how much it costs me.
One thing I need to do also is put a bigger transmission cooler on my car, I have a 15,000 BTU on there right now, but with my stall I probably need a 30,000 BTU one. |
