Mustang GT offers a solid, mid 13 second car with excellent handling for less than 30k. Please, feel free to list the myriad other cars which offer the same for similar money. Hint, it wont take all of the fingers on one hand to list the cars which even get close.

Also worth mentioning, the Accord V6 coupe currently comes as close to matching those performance numbers as does the V6 Camaro.

MUSTANG

i am at 3400 for my 2SS/RS 6 MAN but a V6 against a v8
it may be close depending on drivers I once beat a Dodge viper
with my 01 Denali light to light but he put on 2 miles in one spot
burning rubber
We have to admit Ford gets some pretty good performance from
a 4.6 engine vs 6.2 ok about 300 lbs less weight/111less HP but with the track pac
with 3:73 gear they run pretty good
If my dealer played any trick I would have gone to their other store
and ordered a GT [they sell Fords and Chevys] also a autherized Roush dealer

I think some of those full bolton 3800s with prochargers were putting like 310 on the ground! I'm sure the new 6s would be able to beat an SS(especially the auto SS) with boltons and FI and/or n20 I can see the new 6 putting down 420rwhp with what I said and that'd be more than enough to take a stock ls3 SS
With doing the Procharger on the 3800 they would have had to have updated the internals to be putting that much more power through as the Na Motor had a decently high compression ratio. I know stock for stock, the factory SCed 3800 only put 40-60 more HP than the NA version and they had issues with knock retard on even a lot of stock cars. Also those cars were non intercooled I'll admit, so adding an intercooler (more $$$$) would help

Corrected, but that said picking the V6 Camaro is no penalty or bad choice, it's just outside of the subjective, the GT holds most of the cards.

Don't care who would win... there is ALWAYS some one out there that is a heck a lot faster! So why worry... Love my car... had it just over a month... 5000 miles, a ton of passes at the drag strip, a day on the road course... heck even had it on the dyno a couple of times... Heck even beat a Mustang Shelby GT (due to his poor launch)... of course when we lined up again and he got a good launch he clean my clock by .6 second... which is A LOT! LOL! I lost, so what... Both are great cars...

So stop worrying and enjoy your V6!!!! LOL!
