But! if they do check it won't matter if you go back to stock or not. They'll ding ya.

Sorry bro.

That's what I figured. Thanks for the info. I might give the Flowmaster Hushpower a try and see if the AFM gives me any troubles.

There has been nothing ever documented online that someone was ever refused warranty work on there car if the stock program was restored before going to the dealer and if this ever occurred, it would be all over the place online. That goes for any make and model. If that was the case, you would be able to find something on the forums or google search. These companies would also have a hard time staying in business because that is the benefit of the device. It costs the same as a dyno tune, why would someone wanna get a handheld tuner when a dyno tune will get you a few extra ponies? Its because everyone has kept there warranty (at least to this point). These have been out for many years and I even used the Predator with zero issues from the dealer. People have had transmissions replaced and engine work done (reverted back to stock before going to dealer) and had zero issues. GM does read the computers for major work to see what possibly went wrong and the customers still had zero issues with the warranty. You can read up on the Diablosport forum or do a search for yourself.

I'm NOT saying it will allwyas every time void your warranty. it really is up to the dealer. it seems that most of them are taking care of the customer and overlooking the tunes. which is cool.

But I can't express to you enough that there is no such thing as a undetectable tune. It doesn't exist. If you throw a rod, or bust a ring landing and you are looking at extensive repairs, gm will force the dealer to send them the ECM flash history... Essentially if that count doesn't add up then you will be out of pocket for the power train repair...

FWIW.

Hey everybody. I'm new to the forum. Stopped at a light next a another 2SS and asked if he knew of any Camaro clubs in the area. He has a black 2SS with black rims and Marine Corps badges on it. Looked great. If you're on here bro, hit me up. Anyway he told me to check out this site. Can anyone fill me in on clubs or social gatherings of us Camaro owners?

I just wanted p3pilot to know that so far over the past several years, people havent been denied warranty work with handhelds that reverted back to stock. No matter the reason why, if not detectable or not, people still havent been refused. So I wanted to make sure he knew yes there is a risk but based on history, he should have zero issues.

6litre and Steelshark-

there's a new 'part' for the Vararam that Vengeance installed for me in the last week. They did not alter the tune AT ALL...and now my car runs PERFECT. It's a strange little piece that would never have expected to resolve the issue...but I'll be damned that it got rid of the surging.

You can either call Ron at Vengeance or reach directly out to the guys at Vararam and they'll get the piece drop shipped to you. Again...good news...you WILL NOT have to get your tune updated to resolve the issue...it's a little bolt in piece that attached to the back side of the filter.

Thanks. I'm starting to lean towards tuning out the AFM now. Just need to figure out which exhaust is right for me. I should probably show up to the next meet in Jacksonville and hear some of the systems you guys have.

Anyone know if a truck rental place that I could use to rent a truck + trailer so I can take my car to the track instead of drive it there?

Not sure if you can rent a "truck" I seen a Penske rental mover truck pulling a car on a full car trailer.

That will be my next thing as well. I am selling my car trailer now. I don't have a truck to pull it with.
