Restrepo was a powerful documentary.

So nearly 5 years and just over 15,000 posts and well over half a meelyun views later, Shno's House of Z or more commonly referred to as The House or Houze, STILL STANDS.

In that 5 years, GM has added a Convertible, a 1LE, a ZL1 and finally and of course, the venerable, almighty, name worthy Z/28. And through it all The House stands as it was originally created, a calm and friendly place where reasonable discussions occur over any number of great topics. And almost 5 years from the start, we are now discussing the 6th generation car.

I would not have predicted that 5 years later this thread would still stand and still matter.

I started because I had met a friend on this site. At the time he was serving our country in several places around the world and he had a passion for cars and a great passion for the Z/28. A car I am pretty certain he would love to call his own. But I started it for him because of who and what his service represented to me. We sent a care package on Christmas and I was able to put a Camaro key in that package. But again, Shno was more than a single person to me. He represented a great number of people that sacrifice and risk every single day for our country. Some are in harms way, some simply support that those that are. In all cases they do the daily dirty work we ask them to do so that we don't have to.

Shno still represents that spirit to me and it is evident in the 15,000th post in this thread. If you haven't, go back and look at that post and think about what it means. In a thread devoted to a car, a thread in created in his honor, he posted a clip of film about the brotherhood of soldiering.

And it reminded me of why I started this place almost 5 years and 15,000 posts ago.

And we continue...................................

Checking in fellas. A giant mulch pile caught on fire yesterday and was still burning today with 100 degree outside temp and a 109 heat index. Got shipped out from my station to help load 7,000 feet of 5" hose. Somebody was getting me back for those naps I took last week. Would much rather be driving my 1LE but can't think of a better way to pay for it, except maybe fighting a real fire. Good day fellas.

Number 3, ShnO, Pete, and countless others: I am humbled to be able to occasionally contribute, here, and to be able to count "youse guys" as my camaro5 friends. And it ALL really hails from HERE!

ShnO, we've followed you, from afar AND not-so-far, and we're ALL happy that YOU are still here and still with US... ...and we're better for that, too.

The location for C5FEST VI has yet to be announced, but I hope we can arrange a meeting of the HouZe. If not the FEST, maybe SEMA or Woodward.

Discuss.

I consider it an honor to have been able to participate in this thread with the limited knowledge that I have with respect to the more experienced and knowledgeable people that are on this forum.

I would love the opportunity to meet some of the members on this thread that I have not the pleasure of meeting at FestIII. With that said, I think that the best place for a meeting of most of the members of the HouZe would be at a CamaroFest. I'm hoping to make FestVI, since I missed the last two.

p.s. I will be in Woodhaven in a few days, If anyone will be in the area for this coming Labor day weekend.
